Hegseth SLIPS UP With Revealing Mistake As Ship Attacks Intensify

Pete Hegseth slips up and reveals just how bad Donald Trump's war has made things compared to before it when confronted on the status of the ceasefire as Strait of Hormuz chaos and ship attacks continue. John Iadarola breaks it down on The Damage Report. Leave a comment with your thoughts below!

24 hours or so, Iran's fired at us, we fired at Iran. I'm just gonna ask you more directly, is the ceasefire over? No, the ceasefire is not over. Ultimately, this is a separate distinct project. And we expected there would be some churn at the beginning, which happened. And [00:00:20] we said we would defend and defend aggressively and we absolutely have, Iran knows that. ah And ultimately, uh The President's gonna make a decision whether anything were to escalate into a violation of a ceasefire. But certainly we would urge Iran to be prudent in the actions [00:00:35] that they take to keep that underneath this threshold. This is about the straits, this is about freedom of navigation, this is about international waterways. This is about free flow of commerce, all the things that happened before and only Iran is contesting. So right now the ceasefire certainly holds, but we're gonna be watching very, very closely. I like [00:00:55] the little reminder that before we launched this stupid war, we didn't have any of these problems. Ships could just pass through, gas was actually falling in price. Thank you, Pete Hegs, for reminding us of what Donald Trump took away from us. But right there, you had our great Secretary of War tussling with a member of the fake news media. See, the fake news, [00:01:14] very small minded, okay? When they think of a ceasefire, it can only come in one form, okay? Two groups that previously were at war, not fighting anymore, but that is so small brain. You're focusing too much on the cease. What if you focus on the fire, like the fires [00:01:33] that are being set off on ships that Iran is hitting with missiles. That I think is a much more dynamic and exciting sort of ceasefire. I like my ceasefire with missiles going off and drones flying through the air and the UAE being concerned that they're gonna be blown up at a moment's notice. That's a fun ceasefire, that's a man's. ceasefire, or as Pete Hegseth [00:01:55] refers to there, another endeavor? The hell are you talking about? I get, oh so we had the war, which they didn't want to call a war because then you have legal troubles. That's a quote from the president. So then they hit the 60 day threshold for the War Powers Act. [00:02:11] So they say, well, we have ceasefire. So that doesn't count anymore, even though that's not how the law works. So then the ceasefire falls apart like two and a half days later, which makes them look like goofs. But that- That doesn't mean that the war is back on. This is a separate endeavor where we're both shooting at each other. But also the ceasefire is still happening even [00:02:31] though we're firing at each other. I get that that's what ceasefires have always meant in the case of Israel. But I still assume that for us it meant that nobody was firing missiles at each other, but apparently not so much. So that's the current state of things as we hit the 10th week of this stupid, stupid war. We're saying that the ceasefire is on even [00:02:51] though we are in active combat against them. By the way, one of South Korea's vessels was struck by an explosion. It's on fire. There are apparently no casualties, which is good news. Trump immediately blamed Iran and in this case, I have to assume that he's right about [00:03:09] that. Saying Iran has taken some shots. cease firing at unrelated nations with respect to the ship movement, which is the weirdest possible way that you could have said that. Project freedom, I love Orwell, including a South Korean cargo ship. Perhaps it's time for South Korea [00:03:30] to come and join the mission. And let's pause there. I love that when he announces over the weekend that we are going to be escorting ships through the strait. I mean, not escorting, we're not gonna be there. They could fire a missile at us. But you guys go and we'll tell [00:03:46] you that it's cool. And it's obviously not cool. It was never going to be cool. So now they get hit, there's an explosion. And he's like, uh guess that means you got to come clean this thing up. So that's what all the this was about. I was wondering exactly why you were telling ships to go where they shouldn't be. So we've shot down seven small capital [00:04:06] B boats or as they like to call them fast boats. It's all they have left. I thought they had nothing. Weird how that develops. Other than the South Korean ship, there has been at this moment no damage going through the ship. Other than the one ship that was blown up, there's [00:04:22] no other things being blown up. So it's totally cool. Take your ship through the strait. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, that's his preferred pronoun, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Raisen-Kane will have a Capital N news conference tomorrow morning, which we've shown you a little excerpt from. It did not reassure me to be clear. Has that come across in this video? Anyway, [00:04:43] so the South Korean ship was hit. The UAE is also saying that they've been hit. Emirati authorities blamed Iran for a drone attack that caused a fire at an oil industry zone storage area, the largest oil storage area. So remember that big concern we have that if hostilities [00:04:59] start again, there's gonna be even more damage to oil and fossil gas infrastructure that could have massive ramifications for literally years. This is a reminder of that, it's happening. ah So in neighboring Oman, two people were injured by an attack in Buka near Emirati territory. [00:05:16] So the ship was hit in the strait, the UAE was hit, Oman was hit. That's just a separate endeavor, you dumb doinks. I don't know why you're getting so worked up about this. The ceasefire is totally still on. Forget all the explosions happening behind me. So anyway, [00:05:33] we also are firing defensive shots. Admiral Brad Cooper, head of the Military Central Command said that the US warships shot down cruise missiles and drones fired at ships and commercial vessels that we were guiding through the strait again, not really guiding. We were just being like, go that way, we're not going near there. So we're shooting down cruise missiles. I don't [00:05:53] know how less ceasefire it could be than if there are cruise missiles coming in and we need to shoot them down with our ever depleting number of munitions capable of shooting them down. Never forget that. And okay, so that was Pete Hegseth. Now Trump has also spoken out [00:06:09] about this saying the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has been amazing, he says. It really does seem to be going great. And nobody's going to challenge the blockade. But again, that's really not the concern right now. I get that this is supposed to be this amazing uno switcheroo, [00:06:28] where it's like nothing can go through. But we're going to claim that's good because we're blockading it. My concern is not that a ship gets through, it is very much the opposite of that. And they say we have control over the straight of our moves. He said that this morning, [00:06:44] Pete Hegson said that this morning. But again, if the only control scheme that you can have is that nothing gets through and you claim that's what you wanted, that isn't control, okay? I don't have total control over my car if I can make sure that it never leaves the parking [00:07:02] lot. I would like to also know what it can do vis-a-vis road, maybe highway. That's what total control really looks like and we don't have it, okay? Trump accuses Iran of playing games by talking to him and then going on television saying they had not. And maybe they're doing [00:07:20] that. But I think this is a lot of projection because Donald Trump is coming out both in true social form, bleating his little heart out, and then doing his little chopper talks. where he keeps implying that they are desperate for some sort of deal, that they want to open up the strait. And then turns out that could not be further from the truth. So it is possible [00:07:38] that Iran is playing these sorts of games. But I have a feeling like Donald Trump has a game going as well. And I don't think that he knows the rules. Not a big reader, Donald Trump.
