have a weird six genders, real hit on Jesus. I mean, this guy is bad news with his mask from relatively [00:00:15] recently. He's a vegan, he's a vegan. All of a sudden he's not a vegan. He was a vegan, now all of a sudden he's not. Texas doesn't like vegans. I do believe either one of them will easily win the race. think that the candidate the Democrats have in Texas is a very flawed, [00:00:33] very weak, very think he's a pathetic candidate, especially for Texas. He's a very flawed candidate and I know a lot about him. I could totally tell you his name if you asked me. He doesn't know anything about James Tellerico, but set that aside. Vegan, he's a vegan. That's not [00:00:55] what that is. You are like 80,000 years old. And you don't even know what the thing is that supposedly is disqualifying in Texas. The idea that I guess screw anyone in Texas who chooses not to eat dairy for some reason. We're not like, we have to trip over ourselves to be [00:01:16] so polite and respectful towards any of the hallmarks or traditions of conservative America. You need to bow down to all of that. But if you choose not to eat a particular thing, it's disqualifying. for office, okay, well, whatever, okay, fine. But he doesn't even know what it [00:01:33] is, he doesn't even know how to say it. This does not say anything about James Tallarico, particularly because, and I can't stress this enough, he's not a vegan or a vegan or whatever you want to pronounce it. He literally isn't that thing, he's not even a vegetarian, he [00:01:48] eats meat. So it's a weird attack to begin with, but Donald Trump doesn't even know what it is. So anyway, we'll return to Talarico and the attacks, the swings coming from the right against him are flailing and weird and strangely judgmental, particularly considering the flaws [00:02:04] of their own candidates. But it is looking like we know who's probably going to win today. Paxton star is on the rise, pretty flawed candidate with the corruption scandals and the adultery and everything. But Donald Trump did endorse him, so I guess that's all Texas needs to know. [00:02:20] So right now he's polling. at about nine points higher than Cornyn going into the big primary day. And the prediction markets for what that's worth have swung towards him as well. So it's expected that he's going to win, it might even be a big win. And now that it's looking that [00:02:37] way, Trump feels confident enough to take some big swings against Cornyn. So he did that. In this Truth Social post, he talks a little bit about how Paxton is good in super vague terms. He was a great attorney general. Would you like to cite some examples of that? We're [00:02:53] going to, by the way, in a little bit. But no, he has more to say about Cornyn. ah So Cornyn was disloyal. He didn't fight for the Save America Act. So yeah, he's allowing mail-in ballots. I guess that's disqualifying for him. What more needs to be said? Vote for Ken Paxon [00:03:12] Tuesday. He will never let you down. Well, presumably unless you're- his wife and you've got your marital vows. He might occasionally fail where those uh are regarded. But what's funny about it is he says what more needs to be said. It's obvious to everyone that Cornyn is a disloyal [00:03:30] monster, a jerk, a failure, and Paxton is better. But if that is true, why did it take this long for you to endorse the dude? You're acting like it took actually a lot of saying and listening and lurk and- learning about him to decide who to endorse. But anyway, of course, that was [00:03:46] cowardice. And so look, we'll get to more of it, including the attacks on Telerico. But Keith, I'm curious about your read on Election Day. It looks like they're gonna go for Paxton, who probably will have a slightly harder time beating Telerico than Cornyn. But what do you [00:04:01] make of all of it? Well, I don't know. I I don't believe in fate. But I will say that if you were to try to predict the way that a Democrat could swing Texas, it would be this. It would be one, you're in an environment where Democrats are going to have a huge blue wave. [00:04:24] Two, the president is more popular than ever who's leading the Republican Party. Three, you nominate someone like James Salarico who says things like, and I think this is very radical. where he says he loves Trump because Trump is a child of God and he loves all children [00:04:43] of God. Whoa, whoa. That's a big, hit on Jesus there. Whoa, and then four, you nominate Paxton. So I don't know what's gonna happen, but it feels almost preordained that it feels like something big could really happen in Texas. I'm very excited about all this. Now let's [00:05:03] see what happens today, but it looks as though Paxton's gonna get it, of course. I Trump's endorsement still matters. Yeah, I don't know man, vegan versus Paxton sounds like some kind of like space opera boxing match or something. But yeah, Taylor Rico just seems like a totally [00:05:19] normal guy. That's why they have to get so weird about it. 16 years, big hit. I just don't like, will that stuff matter? Cuz they're gonna hit him with it. My mom was like, he's vegan. She even told me that when I was. talking to her yesterday. was like, I don't think that's true, [00:05:37] but I actually didn't. I'm glad we're talking about it because I was like, I don't think that's true. But why is that not true? But even why would like, what does it matter to you if he chooses not to eat something? Millions of Americans choose not to eat vegetables. [00:05:55] I don't make a federal case about it. And again, all right, like he doesn't like cheese, but Paxton was impeached by his own party. I don't know. It's that weird total imbalance in American culture where you are supposed to either love the things that conservatives love or [00:06:13] if you dislike it, you better be so nice about it. But conservatives can just punch you as hard as they want about a choice that you make that doesn't even affect them. And I hate that about America. But regardless, we already have an idea of how they're going to try to hit Tallerico. So Ken Paxton held a rally. And he said this, he said that Talarico would be quote, [00:06:33] the most radical US Senator from Texas, maybe in the whole country ever. Which of course they would say about literally anyone, means nothing. So I wanted to test a few nicknames tonight and see if you can help me. The suggestions from the audience started flowing as he passed the mic around. Low T Talarico, why? because that would be funny, I guess. What about him? [00:06:56] It doesn't make any sense. Tala-freak-o. That's kind of funny, I guess. Soyboy, the least creative man in America yelled out unprompted. Yep, because he eats a vegetable or something. Again, it's just our country is so broken and our men in particular are so sad. And all of [00:07:19] those people who are going to support Paxton, who are fine with the corruption, fine with the adultery, who believe that they want to clean up government but want a guy who breaks the law to do it. And who believe that they care about religious values and traditional [00:07:34] marriage, but also don't have a problem with this guy who committed adultery or whatever. Worship these broken pathetic men. And then perhaps because on some level they know that they have to lash out at like a Talarico, who I haven't seen any personal flaws or personal [00:07:52] scandals of his. Who seems like a genuinely religious person, which by the way, isn't even especially to my taste, I'm an atheist. But you guys say you want that, and that is what he is, but you have to have a problem with it. The same is with Biden. Biden is obviously [00:08:09] a more genuinely religious man than Donald Trump has ever been in his life, but they had to inverse that. Barack Obama as well, obviously a more genuinely religious and moral and spiritual person than Donald Trump, but they have to invert that. Both because they don't truly care, [00:08:26] but also because they have to performatively pretend to. And so anyway, Paxton ends his rally going back to the thing of, know that James Tallarico would never come here because he doesn't eat any of that stuff. We never had a US Senator who didn't eat meat, especially [00:08:42] Texas barbecue. And again, feels like it should matter. Apparently it doesn't. I just want to remind you, he's not a vegan. He's not a vegetarian. He eats meat. Maybe we should stop [00:08:57] attacking him for not eating meat. Any final thoughts? Yeah, I mean, that's just, I mean, they're so good. They're just so good. Republicans are so good at picking out a stupid thing and then making it a big deal. I wish we have to get better at that. I think it's because the [00:09:16] things that they do are big deals. And it's hard to put an exclamation point on something that is already in caps lock. Do you know what I mean? Whereas they're like, putting like vegan exclamation point. It's just, it's absurd. It's absurd. I think it points to how little [00:09:37] they have to work with when it comes to Talarico. We'll see what they do because I do think that I think the more interesting things are when we were in peak woke where he was saying that got his six genders and he apologizes for being a white man, his privilege. I think all that [00:09:53] stuff could make a difference. in the electorate with the right ads. But I don't think vegans the right way. But again, but Talarico is gonna have his moment to attack Paxton. And I think that's gonna be even more deadly personally. Yeah, I know it just it feels to me like, [00:10:10] you mentioned the exclamation point, like we're focusing on all of these like the biggest corruption stories of the last 100 years. Every week there's a new one or whatever. And meanwhile, it's like under Biden, it's like Tucker Carlson's like, what do we talk about? um They made the [00:10:26] green M &M less Fable. Maybe it's easier to consume that sort of thing where the stakes are so low and you get to get enraged and everything. But you don't have to think about anything too complicated.
