Obviously we've done a lot of work. The big
beautiful bill, the Working Families Tax Code,
all of our legislation has been geared towards
the cost of living, affordability, bringing
the cost of living down. We put in all those
conditions in the economy to let it take off
like a rocket. And we were doing that at the
beginning of the first quarter and then the
Iran skirmish began. So when this settles out,
gas prices come back down to earth. That means
[00:00:18]
your grocery prices come down again because
of transport costs and all the rest. be a big
factor, the kitchen table issues are gonna decide
the midterms. Can those things come down in
time to help you out in the midterm? Yes, we
got plenty of runway, we have better candidates,
we have a fundraising advantage, we're super
excited about the midterms. I'm absolutely
[00:00:34]
convinced that we're gonna grow the majority
and we'll get this done and make history. Now
just say what you wanna be true, Mike Johnson,
and maybe some of it will work out. Not to
say that every bit of that was a lie, they have
raised more money. Now, That is also the same
thing as saying rich people want them still
to be in charge and he didn't phrase it that
[00:00:52]
way. We have better candidates is an outright
lie. But the kitchen table thing is interesting.
He said the big beautiful bill was doing all
this work to take down prices. I don't believe
that. I don't know how many tax cuts you need
to give to millionaires and billionaires and
what effect that could possibly have on inflation,
particularly in a time when Donald Trump's
[00:01:10]
tariffs are still in effect. And then you notice
what he said, the Iran skirmish started, did
it? passively, it just began like an act of
God, like a wildfire. Nobody caused it or anything.
So you mean Donald Trump started it. So you
mean maybe we could have been doing work to
[00:01:27]
bring down prices, but instead, Donald Trump,
the guy who I will never criticize publicly,
chose to start a boneheaded war. That's the
message that you're bringing to voters. Now,
that's the sort of thing that theoretically
a serious journalist seated across from you
might have had a follow up question about. Hey,
who exactly started that conflict? Of course,
[00:01:45]
he's on there on Fox. they only care about
the Republican Party. Fair and balanced is
totally out the door. You'll notice they said,
is there enough time for prices to come down
to help you? Not the American people, the Republican
Party, that is what Fox is focused on. But
[00:02:00]
anyway, as of right now, the American people
are not as optimistic about the economy as
Mike Johnson is right there. You look at this
poll right now of Trump's management of the
economy, 33 % approve of it. Basically, all
of that is lingering Republican support, but
even there he's just at 63%, which for the cult
of personality of MAGA is really bad. One
[00:02:21]
in four independents effectively are okay with
the state of the economy. And John Fetterman,
I suppose, is left right there. But meanwhile,
Donald Trump is losing another voting block
so badly that Harry Inton uh actually laughed
on air about it. Take a look. Men under 30,
[00:02:38]
these again are the voters who power Trump to
victory. back in 2024, in the fall of 2024
versus Kamala Harris, Trump was more trusted
on the economy than Harris by get this, a
seven point margin. Holy Toledo, look at that
percentage now. Look at how young men have
[00:02:55]
turned the net approval among young men for
Donald Trump and the economy minus 59 points.
Right, I'm laughing because the turn is so
absurd. This is a turnaround of what is this
do the math with me right here of 66 points
66 points in less than two years time just
[00:03:11]
a year and a half in terms of feeling towards
Trump and the economy men under 30 on Trump
Look at this in the 2024 election Donald Trump
won that vote by one point He was the first
Republican nominee to win young men this entire
century But now it's a different tune his
[00:03:30]
net approval rating Among young men, look at
this, minus 55 points. Yeah, that is massive.
If it was a Democrat, by the way, it would be
like the main story on the news. Why are the
Democrats so bad when it comes to men? But for
some reason, it's not a big issue, I guess,
[00:03:47]
when it's Republicans. But don't worry, he's
seeing all this bad polling and he's got a
plan to turn it around. AI slop, I guess. This
is what he's posting as the economy's in shambles,
as he's unable to end any wars. that he's going
to invade Greenland, that he has a nicer pool
[00:04:05]
than Biden, that he was uh feeling up a pillar
outside of the White House for six minutes,
by the way. He was transfixed by that goddamn
thing. And that the pool is longer than one
[00:04:21]
World Trade Center is tall. These are things
the President posted online in the last 24
hours amidst dozens and dozens of other slops.
So Keith, as a Democrat, I'm worried because
with stuff like that, I don't think the Democratic
advantage can possibly hold. What do you think?
[00:04:39]
I mean, it's true that pool is bigger than the
World Trade Center and with that's something
we should be worried about November. It's like
absurd. It's absurd. ah I will say with the
economy, it's like COVID. Remember COVID? It's
the one thing he couldn't lie about because
[00:04:58]
people were dying. And so he tried to do the
thing where he was like, well, we'll just not
talk about it and it will move on. No, I think
it's the same thing with this. They're trying
to do the Donald Trump lie and boast away out
of the economy. It's not going to work. People
know when things cost more. You can't deny it.
And I think it's going to have real implications
[00:05:18]
to uh the general election. And yeah, like him
posting that slop, I think actually should
be. very big, imagine if he was releasing that
as a press release from the White House with
[00:05:34]
the White House branding on it. It's insane.
It's insane for the President to be shit posting
on his blog. I don't call it a social media
platform. It's a blog. Only one person writes
on it and then other people comment. And it
should be a bigger story because what the President
[00:05:51]
says should be important and it should matter.
And if he is talking about that, then I think
the news shouldn't ignore it and they should
actually investigate why he's saying it.
