Because of this administration's leadership fraudsters, scammers, tax chiefs or anyone who lies to get rich off the generosity of the American people should be on notice. unless you're Donald Trump or related to Donald Trump or involved in Donald Trump, then I guess [00:00:16] you're on notice that you could be a tax cheat and fraudster as much as you want, and you will never be caught. I don't mean that the system isn't really set up to catch you and so your chances of being caught were always very low. No, no, no, we're way beyond that now. I mean, you'll never be caught by law supposedly because as yet another part of what they're [00:00:39] calling a settlement with Donald Trump's IRS case, it's not a settlement. He dropped the case and they just did this. He decided, hey, you know what would be really cool? This is gonna be funny. What if they could never look into my taxes again? And not just me, all of [00:00:59] them, all the Trumps all over the place. Wouldn't that be wild? Wait, actually, let's do that. And so they're doing that or at least trying to do that. DOJ has said him, his family, his businesses are immune. from any ongoing inquiries into their taxes. so Todd Blanch, the acting [00:01:16] Attorney General and actual Donald Trump personal lawyer, said that the government would be quote, forever barred and precluded from prosecuting or pursuing pending tax claims against Trump, his family members and businesses. And I was going to say, leave that up for a second, I was going to say, I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure that's not gonna hold up in court. [00:01:36] But then I realized he capitalized forever barred and precluded so. Yeah, no, we're probably screwed then. Anyway, the interesting thing is that federal law prohibits the president, vice president, and other executive officers from instructing the IRS to start or stop specific [00:01:52] audits, which of course this is doing. But that broad prohibition appears to include a carve out for the attorney general. See, but there's a reason for that. That's because in the Elden days, we used to have this idea that the attorney general and in fact the entirety [00:02:07] of the DOJ was like an independent thing. Somehow the founders didn't think to say, the Attorney General probably shouldn't be the personal lawyer of the goddamn President of United States. Oopsie doopsie, we made a constitutional poopsie everybody. And so I guess Trump can just tell [00:02:28] his toady to stop the audit. And all audits for him, for Eric, Don Jr. Kai Trump, you thinking about doing some tax cheats? You're fine, don't even worry about it, I guess. But never forget, Hunter Biden is the real tax cheat. He actually got in legal trouble for his taxes. [00:02:49] That was corruption, not Donald Trump, not at all. And what's interesting is that you might think, well, why would you need this unless you knew that you had broken the law? And yeah, no, that's a very good point. They do appear to know that. And this potentially could save [00:03:05] Trump at least $100 million from double dip tax breaks that there has been strong evidence for years he was engaging in. And again, I don't know why Donald Trump would care about the $100 million. He has literally billions. It means nothing. It's like you losing a penny, [00:03:22] but he's willing to further shred the Constitution. this is nothing. There's no legal basis for literally any of this. But we are in America and there's no legal basis for anything anymore Sharon. So yeah, I'm a little bit mad, what do you think? Yeah, I'm just listening to you [00:03:40] now. It's like my blood pressure is going up and I've just like keeping a list of the people that I'm furious with. And it's like kind of out of sync because it's on one hand Mike Pence and anybody who wasn't going to vote the 25th because you know, just taking it too far. Joe Biden who didn't want to once he got in office. Go ahead and let's um figure out how to get [00:04:00] this guy in jail. uh All of them, Jack Smith, Susan Collins, who said the president's learned his lesson. He's not gonna stop unless he is proactively stopped. We have to put up a barrier to this guy. He's got to go. This whole thing where the Democrats are still saying things [00:04:19] like, well, we're not gonna focus on him and impeachment. This is just gonna keep happening. I've been racking my brain and I'm no lawyer. I have enough experience with him now to say, hey, what can we do to undo this? And the truth is he's gated everything. He owns the Supreme [00:04:35] Court. He owns us the tax laws, his attorney general Todd Blanch. It's gonna be blanket pardons to him, everybody around him. And the rest of us are left holding the bag and working probably for the first 11 months of the year for Donald Trump and his theft. Yeah, it just, [00:04:51] it like, so Donald Trump's taxes were leaked or whatever. And so Eric can't be audited. Does that not feel like, like fundamentally anti-American? Like what, does that have to [00:05:07] do with anything? Like his whole of Ivanka can't be audited because Donald Trump's taxes were leaked six years ago and it made absolutely no difference whatsoever. he's worth like five times as much as he was then and he became president again. I don't understand any of this. And [00:05:28] this isn't even where I'm gonna ask the media to ask Todd Blanch a tough question. No, they're just gonna spit in our face. But I don't know, maybe when we take over Congress, this could be one of the focuses of what should be an absolute goddamn tsunami of investigations. But honestly, [00:05:46] as insane as this is, and this is arguably one of the craziest things the president has ever done, it's not even the craziest thing. in this segment of the damage report.
