this is a fun topic, but it also is kind of serious. We're talking here about 29 year old Julia Varvavo, who is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism, who you can see uh right here. You can see her photo on screen right now, and allegedly you could have seen it [00:00:16] on some sugar daddy websites in the past. Now she denies that, but a guy who she has identified as a ex boyfriend of hers. has said that he met her on a sugar daddy website and he had this whole big ordeal with her. We will get to that. But there is sort of a spoiler alert [00:00:33] ahead of our ruling, which is that she has been suspended for this new investigation. We're being told Varvaro is on administrative leave as a result of the investigation and she is no longer serving in her capacity as a Deputy Assistant Secretary at DHS. Here's a fun detail [00:00:52] about Varvavo. She was appointed to her senior position in the DHS on counterterrorism in May 2025, shortly after earning a degree in Homeland Security from St. John's University. It's her first job out of college and she's the Deputy Secretary of Counterterrorism? [00:01:13] My God, I guess it's better than the gardener being put in charge of counterterrorism. Anyway, so She had an official complaint filed against her after a man who was identified as Robert B alleged that he spent $40,000 on her during their three month relationship. He said they [00:01:32] met on the dating app Hinge and alleged that she has used a sugar daddy platform under the pseudonym Alessia. Robert, so we could go through all of this. She apparently had advertised herself as offering seductive sophistication, used the same photo that's on her Instagram. [00:01:48] Robert has made several allegations including that they consumed marijuana together. No, and so she denies it. And he said, I didn't want a sugar daddy prostitution relationship after spending $30 to $40,000 for vacations, Cartier jewelry, expensive handbags and various [00:02:08] shopping trips. She told me that she does not have college debt because sugar daddies paid for college education. She also told me directly that the $40,000 worth of jewelry on her wrists and ears. are all trophies from her sugar daddies. I believe that she's under financial stress and that her actions pose a security risk. She says, it's not true, I didn't have a profile [00:02:28] on the sugar daddy thing. We were together in an exclusive relationship, we went on vacations. I don't know what's the problem with that. So we don't know for sure if she was on these websites. I do know that if that dude didn't want a sugar daddy situation. How did it take [00:02:45] you $40,000 to figure out that that's what you're in, bud? Come on, bro to bro, dude, you gotta wake up. That's what the situation is. But anyway, let's assume that she is on the thing. The concern is, if you're doing that and you're one of the senior officials on counterterrorism, [00:03:03] you're potentially opening yourself up to blackmail or God knows what else. So that's sort of the concern. So I believe we have a Twitch poll up or we will have a poll up soon. But first we need Justice Yaz to weigh in. Should you be able to have a sugar daddy and be a senior [00:03:18] administration official? Yeah, I don't see a problem with the sugar daddy itself apart from what you said. Is there any kind of compromise anywhere? Is there anything that can be used as blackmail? I am genuinely more concerned about why she was given that job right out [00:03:36] of college, right? What made her qualified? Was there somebody behind the scenes pulling the strings for her? That is what I'm more interested in, not the fact that some man decided to spend his own money on her of his own volition, right? Because that's the thing that men do. I guess, [00:03:55] I don't know, I've never been a sugar baby, but it's also-. Never done that. sometimes that's how people date. I had an Uber driver. in LA who was one of my favorite Uber drivers to date. And she was telling me all about like, uh this guy wants me to go meet him in Dubai [00:04:15] tomorrow and I can't decide if I'm gonna go or not. And I was like, don't go to Dubai with some guy. And she was like, yeah, I'm not gonna go. But she was like, I don't know, I might go. So people just live different lives, okay? And if some man wants to spend $40,000 on you, who is she to say don't do that? She said we went on vacations, I don't see what the problem [00:04:34] is. they can prove that there is a problem somewhere, then act accordingly. But as of now, it doesn't seem like there is that. But why does she have that job? My idea of a sugar daddy situation is a steady stream of free pop tarts. That does sound pretty good. Okay, so you're saying [00:04:51] let her go, innocent. I'm saying look into it. But don't lose your position, don't lose your job. Not necessarily, yeah, least not yet. em So I don't know, I'm really of two [00:05:07] minds about this. I mean, what's the difference between that and just any other dating site? Well, I mean, there is a clear financial thing. The financial thing is the thing that hypothetically allows for blackmail or whatever. That's the concern is that she is a senior counterterrorism. [00:05:25] Look, the far bigger issues that she has the job at all. I'm sure St. John's has a rigorous curriculum. But I don't think that you should be in charge. there is a financial incentive, is it akin to prostitution if she says that they were in a committed relationship to one [00:05:42] another, that kind of thing? But also, if he's agreeing to pay for things, we don't have the details is all I'm saying. That's true. A suspension is fine. We have to go with what we know. So you ruled basically innocence or a suspension, but you're not a maximalist. The Twitch poll [00:06:02] right now has uh not in this role. So they wouldn't want her as a senior counterterrorism person, which is a sensitive position, but you could have some other job, which I think is very reasonable. I'm gonna say, yeah, I think transfer somewhere else. Maybe an entry level position, [00:06:18] which is what she deserves based on her experience. But that said, I also feel a bit strange that very shortly after you find out that she got a necklace, she's suspended. Meanwhile, the Atlantic revealed all that it revealed about Cash Patel, and they don't give a damn about [00:06:36] it. They're not remotely interested. So again, it always feels like the consequences are way harsher for women, even if the allegations are far less serious than they are for the men. I mean, I guess that's why I'm confused because I'm like so much worse stuff has come out about [00:06:52] people within this administration and nothing happens. And this is just like the possibility of something maybe bad. that happened, but we don't know yet and this person was removed from her position. I do think it's funny though that now because of this story, we now know that there was somebody who was 29 years old who just graduated from college and is now [00:07:11] in this high level position. So it's good that we know the people who are running our country, guess. I think- I largely agree with you, investigate it because it is not actually even established that she necessarily was on a sugar daddy website or whatever. That should be able to be determined definitively or whatever. ah And probably move her to a different position. [00:07:30] I think we are very reasonable, even if we are dragons.
