Harris SLIPS In Polls As Trump Exploits Her OBVIOUS Weakness
Former President Donald Trump attacked Vice President Kamala Harris over her answer on "The View" about what she would do different than President Joe Biden.
- 15 minutes
But really, nobody makes the case
against Lion Kamala Harris
better than Kamala herself.
So Kamala just said that she can't
think of one thing she'd do differently
[00:00:16]
than Crooked Joe Biden.
Right.
Well, as expected,
Kamala Harris's comments on The View
are coming back to haunt her.
As Donald Trump exploits a statement
that she made about how she would
do nothing differently than Joe Biden
should she get elected into office
[00:00:34]
as president of the United States.
In fact, here's a reminder
of what she said.
If anything, would you have done
something differently than President Biden
during the past four years?
There is not a thing
that comes to mind in terms of
[00:00:49]
and I've been a part of, of, of most
of the decisions that have had impact.
Now Republicans are planning to use
that clip in a massive ad campaign
in the hopes of tying Kamala Harris
to all of Biden's leadership and issues.
[00:01:07]
Trump also played a clip or the clip
at a rally in Pennsylvania yesterday
for the crowds to hear in real time.
One Trump ally told Axios, quote,
expect to see this clip every single time
you turn on the television
between now and November 5th, and this is
[00:01:24]
something that we warned about.
The one thing that Kamala Harris
is polling well on
is that she is seen as a change candidate
that is working to her favor.
And so when she ties herself
to Joe Biden and says,
[00:01:40]
no, I would do nothing differently, well,
that's not going to bode well for her
because she's signaling that it's going to
be a continuation of this administration,
which, whether you like it or not,
does not have a great approval rating
and could hurt her in the election.
Yeah.
Look, anytime we try to warn them,
they say, oh, you like Trump?
[00:01:57]
No, we're trying to beat Trump.
At least I am.
Okay.
And if you want to beat him saying,
oh, I agree with a deeply
unpopular president who none of you like
and whose polling in the low 30s,
they haven't pulled him in a while.
[00:02:13]
He might be in the upper 20s now.
What? How has that helped beat Trump?
That's a really terrible answer.
So and a lot of this is Joe Biden's fault
because there's internal stories about,
any time Kamala Harris
distances herself from Joe Biden, Joe
[00:02:31]
and Jill Biden apparently get all animated
and they're like, how dare you?
He is the most important person
in the world.
Who cares if you lose?
Who cares if Donald Trump wins?
I mean, when we were running,
we were losing to him by eight points.
We had no chance of winning,
and we didn't care.
As long as the glory
of Joe Biden is appeased.
[00:02:48]
Right. And and trumpeted.
So now Kamala Harris listening
to these idiots,
these and remember she adopted
the Biden campaign team filled to the rim
with utter morons who were getting
annihilated by Donald Trump, who has
about three brain cells in his head.
[00:03:04]
I mean, he'd never be like,
it's humiliating to lose to Donald Trump,
and they're getting their asses
handed to them again.
Now, again, for God's sake.
And these idiots thought, oh, yeah,
let's be kind to Biden and say we're
with the incredibly unpopular incumbent.
[00:03:19]
So I'm going to ask you
how you would have answered that question.
Just a minute.
But let me just say,
I understand that Kamala Harris is
in a difficult spot when she is confronted
with that kind of question,
because it's not just that she used
to serve in the Biden administration years
[00:03:36]
ago and doesn't want to hurt his feelings,
it's that she's the vice president
of the Biden administration right now.
- Yeah.
- Who cares?
Okay. So okay, so that's a great question.
So because guys understand
why it's a great question, it's easy to
say that only one side of it right.
[00:03:52]
I'm not unaware that Kamala Harris
has to seem like she's not too disloyal,
because that will make her less likable.
Right?
And that might depress voter turnout
in some small ways,
even though the Democrats that love Biden
are all going to vote and they're all
going to vote for Kamala Harris.
So you don't have to worry too
much about that flank,
[00:04:08]
but you still have to care about optics.
ET cetera. Right.
So the right way to answer that is and
and look, I'm not saying be honest.
If I was honest,
I'd say I got nothing to do with that guy.
Okay.
I don't want anything to do
with that guy at all.
Here's my plans
on how I'm going to fight for you.
But I know she can't do that.
So here's what I would do.
[00:04:24]
I would say, look,
Joe Biden has been a terrific president.
Look at all these amazing things
that we passed.
Infrastructure bill.
We're going to build bridges
and roads all over the country.
It's going to create,
you know, millions of jobs.
And we've got internet
to even rural areas.
So I'm so proud
that I worked with Joe Biden on these
wonderful accomplishments that we had.
[00:04:41]
Do we have some disagreements?
Of course we do.
We're two individual human beings.
We, you know, fought against each other
in the 2020 primary.
But he was so magnanimous in accepting me,
accepting me as his vice president.
But I got to tell you so what I love
about Joe Biden is he cares
so much about the system and the rules
and how we have to have tradition, etc.
[00:05:00]
So that's why.
And he comes from the Senate.
That's why he respects the rules
and the traditions of the Senate so much.
But I'm a different person and I don't.
So when I say, say to me,
we can't pass paid family leave,
we can't pass higher minimum wage,
we can't pass a public option because of
[00:05:15]
the filibuster and the parliamentarian.
I respect Joe Biden's position
and a lot of Democrats
and Republicans position on that.
But my position is I don't care about
the filibuster or the parliamentarian.
I'm going to get this done.
If you have a baby in this country,
you're going to get 12 weeks off.
[00:05:31]
There's no possible scenario
where I let these corporations drive you
back to work the day after you had a baby.
It's not going to happen.
And I don't give a goddamn
about the parliamentarian
or a filibuster voting rights.
We're going to get that immediately.
And I don't care
if the parliamentarian thinks
[00:05:47]
that people shouldn't have civil rights.
We're going to get higher wages.
You know why?
Because it's got
to keep up with inflation.
They say, oh,
the wages are causing the inflation.
No, the wages are barely
keeping up with inflation.
I'm going to fight for the average man.
How would that answer be?
[00:06:02]
It's a good answer.
I don't know if she has the capability
of giving an answer like that.
- Isn't that so sad?
- It is.
It is sad that the Democrats
have all of these people in the country
to choose from, and they can't
find one person to give that answer.
Okay, you say like, I don't know
if you like if any of you thought.
[00:06:19]
No, Jake, that's an that's not the right.
I like Kamala's answer better.
Okay, well,
it doesn't matter what you like.
What matters is
what the general electorate thinks
and how they feel about it.
And she's slipping in the polls.
And so, look,
if you've been paying close attention,
[00:06:35]
and if you watch this show, you definitely
have been paying close attention.
There was a pivot
at some point in her campaign where she
kind of moved off of the more, you know,
economic populist messaging
and tried to center her campaign
on attracting the disaffected Republicans.
[00:06:52]
And so she starts talking about her Glock.
She starts talking about, you know,
how she's she loves capitalism
and she wants to do something
for the business community.
And she made the mistake that she made
on The View by tying her, you know,
[00:07:07]
future agenda to that of Joe Biden's.
And so what are we seeing in the polls?
There's a new New York Times
Siena College poll, and there is
a bit of good news, even though she said
what she said on The View,
it does appear that the majority of voters
seem to think that she represents change.
[00:07:23]
So let's take a look at that graphic.
So it says which candidate
represents change?
More 46% say that Kamala Harris does,
44% say that Donald Trump does.
But just a note of caution.
The results are
within the margin of error.
So Kamala Harris's lead is within the
margin of error of 2.4 percentage points.
[00:07:43]
But that was the first time that
the Times Siena College poll where Harris
where Harris had been identified
as the candidate of change.
Now, a Gallup poll released today
found that Kamala Harris has a major lead
when it comes to likability as well.
[00:08:00]
That doesn't surprise me.
I think that the way she carries herself
definitely makes her
a more likable person.
Donald Trump likes to, you know,
cause conflict and all of that.
So let's take a look at that.
So 60% of respondents say
that Harris is likable, compared to 38%
[00:08:16]
who said the same about Trump.
More respondents also said
Harris has a strong moral character
and is honest and trustworthy.
But Trump also has some clear advantages,
according to the polling.
So let's take a look at the next one.
So nearly 60% of respondents said
Trump is a strong and decisive leader,
[00:08:35]
compared to 48% of voters
who said the same about Harris. 61% of
respondents say Trump can get things done,
compared to 49% for Kamala.
Additionally, if we go back to the New
York Times poll that I referenced earlier,
[00:08:50]
42% of respondents said Trump's policies
had helped them personally,
compared with 22% who said
the same about Biden's policies.
So again, going back to what she
said on The View, she needs to move off
that messaging entirely,
because if you look at the polling,
[00:09:08]
it indicates that a far higher percentage
of Americans felt that their lives were,
you know, better or benefited under
Trump's policies versus Biden's policies.
All right.
One of our members on Twitch,
Jesper Otto, said, how's Harry's campaign
going to bounce back from this?
[00:09:23]
It's not over yet.
Please tell me it's not over yet.
No, it's not over yet.
And so, look, I might, you know,
do something different
at the end of this show.
Just stay tuned right here, okay?
Because I've got apparently
they're not getting it.
So I've got to explain
how to beat Donald Trump.
[00:09:38]
And so is it still possible? Yeah.
You got 25 days left in a normal election.
25 days goes by in a blink of an eye,
and it really doesn't make
much of a difference.
It's almost over by the time
you're at this point, right?
But in this election,
25 days is a lifetime.
The lead can change 3 or 4 times still,
so it's not likely that it's going to.
[00:09:57]
It's usual pattern is it
gets locked in around now.
Okay.
So I'm not saying oh yeah don't
worry it'll go bounce back and forth.
It might never bounce back okay.
But yes it can bounce back.
So look guys the situation is dire
because she's now losing.
[00:10:13]
Not according not only according
to the public polls, but according
to private polls and other places,
six out of seven of the swing states.
Yeah, but they're really close.
So let's show you the numbers,
and then we'll talk about how to get back
in the right direction.
So this is graphic six.
It's the real Clear Politics
average of polls.
[00:10:31]
So this isn't based on one poll.
And it looks at the swing states.
And as you can see Trump does have a lead
in most of these swing states.
It's not a giant lead.
So I don't think all is lost
for the Harris campaign.
But it does signal that Harris
is headed in a bad direction and should
[00:10:48]
maybe reconsider the pivot that she
has recently engaged in to attract neocons
and disaffected Republicans.
So. So those are the average of polls.
But when you look at the most
recent polls, they they're all trending
towards Trump, including in Wisconsin.
[00:11:04]
So they're she's losing in five out of
seven polls, as I explained last night,
Mark Halperin says in his private polling,
she's losing almost all the swing states.
You can say, Mark Halperin,
I don't really trust that guy.
And what do you mean
private polling, etc.?
But then you look
at the Democratic reaction.
James Carville, David Axelrod
and others are all over TV going,
[00:11:24]
we're we're in trouble.
We don't think we won this election.
We didn't win this election.
You've got to work really hard.
We have to be quote unquote aggressive,
etc., because they're seeing
the same numbers we're seeing.
It's all trending against Kamala Harris.
So whether it's 5 or 6 out of the seven
swing states is irrelevant.
[00:11:42]
Because if she doesn't win
those states, it's over.
Right.
And she doesn't have to win all of them.
But she does have to almost
definitely has to win Michigan,
Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
[00:11:57]
If she doesn't win those three,
she'd have to pull off a miracle,
upset other in other places.
And right now she's losing in Michigan
and Pennsylvania and and it's not trending
in the right direction in Wisconsin.
So it's bad. It's definitely bad.
[00:12:13]
Okay. So how can you turn it around?
Well, look, I could spend hours and hours
talking about that, and I probably will
at some point, but the things not to do.
So she realized, oh, wait,
me saying me bear hugging.
Biden didn't play well.
So she goes on Stephen Colbert
and Stephen Colbert says,
[00:12:31]
what are you looking forward to doing
when you get into the white House?
Easiest question in the world.
That should be the number one
question you prepare
for whenever you're running, right?
And she says, well,
first of all, I'm not Joe Biden.
Okay, good. I'm glad you adjusted.
But it's a weird time to say that, right?
What are you going to do?
[00:12:48]
But wait, wait, wait,
that's that would be fine by itself.
The next thing she says is.
And I'm not Trump.
- Oh my God, yes, but what are you.
- Going to do?
What are you going to do?
Okay, so these are terrible answers.
And then she mumbles for about a minute,
and then she finally gets back around
[00:13:06]
to some of her policies.
What are we doing here? What are we doing?
No. Talk about your policies. Go populist.
So here's one Proposal again,
it's symbolic,
but in and of itself this would do it.
It's not too late.
So she's already proposed
on price gouging the housing.
[00:13:23]
And then she dropped it because business
interests and donors yelled at her.
Right.
So you need something new
to to energize people.
Donald Trump is giving away tax cuts
like he's Oprah.
Okay. And Tyra.
Oh, look under your seats.
You got a tax cut.
You got a tax cut, right?
Is he making it up?
Of course he is. Right.
[00:13:39]
But it's effective,
so you don't have to make it up.
Go with paid family leave.
The Republicans will have to oppose you.
And then you're on the side of moms.
You're on the side of a proposal
that 84% of Americans want
74% of your beloved Republicans want.
[00:13:54]
Instead of saying you like Dick Cheney
and Republicans, why don't you say
you like paid family leave?
Which three quarters
of Republican voters love?
Okay, so that way you're appealing
to the actual voters instead of appealing
to these deeply unpopular people.
[00:14:09]
And if you say, hey,
I'm getting paid family leave pass so that
every one of you, once you have a kid,
you're going to get 12 weeks off.
We're the only country almost
in the entire world that doesn't have it.
And I'm going to absolutely make sure that
you're going to get it no matter what.
And if I don't get it,
you should never reelect me, okay?
[00:14:26]
That's how far I'm willing to go.
We're going to get that done.
Hell or high water, right?
What is that going to force
the Republicans to do?
Go. Oh, paid family leave is bad because
all their corporate donors don't want it.
Right?
Then you've got an amazing advantage
on an incredibly popular and populist
[00:14:43]
proposal that is economic and helps
the average American instead of the CEOs.
Will they do that? Of course not.
They won't do any of it.
There isn't a single populist
in the building.
Nobody's even going to think of it.
They're going to say, oh, what
other business interests should we please?
[00:14:58]
Well, that's how you lose an election.
