Trump SINKS Republicans With Disastrous Admission On Gas Prices Getting Worse
Donald Trump sinks his own party with disastrous admission on Fox News that gas prices could be even higher months from now during key midterm elections. John Iadarola and Jayar Jackson break it down on The Damage Report. Leave a comment with your thoughts below!

Is this going to be enough to lower the price
of oil and gas, Well, eventually it's going
to be lower. No, it might not happen initially,
but it's going to go down. When this is all
over, look, the stock market, the Dow had 50,000.
It was supposed to be in four or five years.
[00:00:17]
They said it won't happen during his term, but
it'll be maybe four or five years. It hit 50,000
in my first year. So do you believe the price
of oil and gas will be lower before the midterm
elections? I hope so. mean, I think so. It could
be, it could be, the same, or maybe a little
[00:00:34]
bit higher. Okay, okay, so is this going to
be enough to get the gas price down? Nothing
that he's saying in that interview about blockading
it about more, none of that is going to lower
the price of gas. How would it? More wars not
going to lower the price of gas is only going
[00:00:50]
to go up. And there Donald Trump is telling
you, it might not go down for months and months
and months. He's already raised the price of
gas 20 to 40%. He told you in one year, after
being elected, he'll drop it by 50%. Instead,
it's massively up and now he's telling you
[00:01:08]
another year into his presidency, it's still
going to be up. Does this seem at all like
what he promised when he was campaigning? And
there he says, it's okay, don't worry about
it. Stack market, Dow Jones hit 50,000 in my
first year, which it didn't, it was in his
second year and it lasted for that long. And
now it's down to 46, 47,000 or whatever, which
[00:01:30]
is fine. that is slightly higher than it was
on Election Day 2024. It's gonna take five
years, it was nearly there before you were elected.
Because again, regardless of who's in power,
the decisions are always made in a way that's
gonna benefit Wall Street and the Dow Jones,
[00:01:47]
so that's always going up. And so he's once
again trying to take credit on just the inevitable
progress we were already having, the same as
he does with crime. And at the same time,
trying to brush under the rug, the very real
consequences of the specific actions that he's
[00:02:03]
taking. The Dow Jones was already going up.
The Strait of Rameuse wasn't closing itself.
That took Donald Trump and them potentially
doing tolls on all the ships. That was never
happening until you get Donald Trump. And this
is bad for the Republican Party. Republican
[00:02:24]
strategists like Alex Conant are saying if gas
prices are still $4 or $5 in November, going
to be very challenging for incumbents, I would
think so. He adds that the president would
be wise to get out of the prediction business.
I think he should get into the thinking business
though. It's not the prediction, it's the lying
business. This is not an accurate reflection
[00:02:44]
of what he thinks is going to happen. It's what
he wants you to maybe imagine might happen
to limit the political damage. But anyway, you
can see that gas prices have already been a
financial hardship for 51 % of the population.
an inconvenience for 28 % more. And then 8%,
[00:03:01]
I don't know, priest drivers or billionaires,
literally, almost nobody basically. And two
out of three Americans believe that the condition
of the US economy is bad. And look, I think
it's a good question, Jared, to ask if the economy
is good or bad. But I think a more accurate
[00:03:18]
one is, is it better or worse than when Donald
Trump got elected? And it's just worse. It's
other than a couple thousand points on the Dow,
it's worse in basically every way that one
can measure it. What do you think? Well, that's
always the question, right? But the thing is
[00:03:35]
people who would have to answer that probably
didn't know what it was before. They were listening
to what Donald Trump said. I've seen these
clips, these compilations of people that get
asked why they supported him back when they
did. And many times it was just regurgitation
of everything that he said. So if he said it,
it was true. And if you needed to explain yourself,
[00:03:52]
you just say what he said. It's how cults work.
And that's why they got offended when people
said stuff like that. But when gas hits you
a certain way and you actually have to open
up that wallet and then pay for it, it's hard
to keep reciting the same stuff when your
money is reciting something else. And this is
where he's running into his walls with everything
[00:04:10]
because he's destroyed everything. All the promises
that he made towards folks. I'm sure we'll
get to the other things. But all these things
that people have to now confront themselves
with despite the talking points when they don't
match up ends up then going back to man. How
am I going to afford this? You can keep saying
the gas is $1.99 a gallon, but until people
[00:04:29]
actually pay that, they can't keep that whole
facade up. He's hitting these brick walls.
That's why he's spiraling and screaming and
having these long truth social tirades against
folks and saying he's just going to keep killing
more people to get to the bottom of it, because
that's all they got. And it's running to brick
walls. It's kind of lovely to see. It's bad
[00:04:46]
at the same time because we all have to experience
it. at least they're waking up to in like,
the 12th hour of the problem we've got. Yeah,
you mentioned the $1.99. It was less than two
months ago that he was lying and saying that
it was $1.99 somewhere in America. But now
[00:05:02]
they're like, maybe in 2027, it'll be 399. That's
fast degradation. And you spoke about the hypocrisy,
so let's end on that. Let's compare the Republicans
who are now all over, it's not a big deal,
don't even worry about it or whatever. Let's
flash back to how they were talking about it
[00:05:20]
when Joe Biden was in office. Would you like
to have a $1.84 a gallon instead of $4? Today
they had $4. And we have a country that's not
going to be throwing a nuclear weapon at us.
But Americans are feeling the effects in the
interim. And they're also feeling a lot safer.
[00:05:40]
Gas prices are through the roof and people are
now waiting in line. Prices have dropped dramatically.
And look, I know we've seen a blip right now.
I watched this growing up. I watched my mom
who didn't have much money. When prices of things
went up, like gas, it impacts your ability
to do what you cared about. I grew up in a poor
family, so I know this impact on gas and food
[00:05:57]
prices, all that, is really impacting people.
And my heart goes out to them. But the president
is doing the right thing. It's better to make
sure we are not going to be destroyed by nuclear
weapons. Gas prices have risen 40 % since President
Biden took office. That takes a tremendous
toll on family budgets. Things will start to
stabilize, Dana. You'll start to see those
[00:06:15]
gas prices come down to a more normal range.
Americans are not joyful when they go to the
gas station. If you think gas prices are high
now, give the Ayatollah a nuclear weapon to
terrorize the region, to threaten the streets
of Hormuz. He will control gas prices forever.
[00:06:33]
First of all, he doesn't need a goddamn nuke
to shut down the straight, what would you do
with it in a straight-forward moose? This is
your thing, being bloodthirsty is your thing,
Lindsey Graham, and you're way too excited.
So anyway, yeah, you can see uh lower gas
[00:06:50]
prices were a bigger problem under Biden than
high prices are under Donald Trump. And JR,
I had never known that if you're criticized
or if you come up short, You just have to point
to the fact that yeah, well, at least now you're
not going to be nuked. If my wife has a problem
with me not taking out the trash. Yeah, but
have you been nuked recently? I don't think
[00:07:09]
so. That's the answer to all of our concerns.
