JD Vance's Plan BLOWS UP In His Face As Viktor Orban Finally Shut Down

JD Vance's plan to help boost support for Trump ally Viktor Orbán blows up in his face as data reveals Vance's visit may have hurt Orban even more with voters, while he got shut down by voters in the major Hungary election. John Iadarola and Jayar Jackson break it down on The Damage Report. Leave a comment with your thoughts below!

Mr. President, you are on with about 5,000 Hungarian patriots and I think they love you even more than they love Viktor Orban. because I love hungry and I love that Victor. I'll tell you, he's a fantastic man. We've had a tremendous relationship. I love him. I love [00:00:20] the way he's like stripped away democratic rights, elite consolidation. The media is just, we're doing that. We're actually important that here, CNN, you'll be next. We love you. And JD, with your uh endorsement, he can't possibly lose. Oops, because he did. Now, This time [00:00:40] JD at least didn't kill the person abroad that he went to visit. So that's good knock on acrylic, but he did apparently kill his chances because after 16 years Viktor Orban, the authoritarian leader of Hungary, I love Hungary, uh finally has lost which is pretty amazing actually. [00:00:55] um And I'm not going to try to claim that I predicted it. Speaking with Jordan Yule a couple days before the election. I didn't think it was gonna happen, mainly because I didn't think he'd allow it to happen. That's what him and his party had done for nearly two decades at that point was gradually taken away all of the normal democratic means that you would [00:01:13] take this authoritarian out. But the people rose up and that's pretty amazing. But I do wanna stick just for one second on the JD Vance of it all. Take a look at what Harry Endon had to say about that. uh Down it goes, down it goes. We're looking now at just a 31 % chance [00:01:35] about a one in three shot. And I was also looking at the numbers pre and post JD Vance visit. If anything, they might have gone down slightly, but there really has been no impact JD Vance not helping out an ally of his abroad. We are someday going to find out that Harry Anton [00:01:53] was in fact training to win the All Valley Karate Tournament at some point in the future. But anyway, for now, now I appreciate what Harry Anton does. I do not like when he points to prediction market odds and says he has a 48 % chance of winning. Cal she does not determine [00:02:13] reality, okay? The prediction market. he has a 48 % chance. But regardless, it does seem to have gone down. And so regardless, I mean, he got beat, so that's good. We have some B-roll actually, people celebrating in Hungary. It's gotta be a pretty amazing time there. I mean, [00:02:32] there are a lot of people who for basically their entire conscious life, they have always lived under Viktor Orbán. um And I don't expect that you will know much about Hungary or whatever. Feel free to go watch John Oliver's recent episode on it, was really, really good. But basically [00:02:47] there is a reason that all of the worst people in America love Viktor Orban. It's because they want to do to us what he gradually did to Hungary right there. So and then a lot of the same ways, a lot of the same culture war topics again, consolidation of the media, the whole like pretending about rigging of elections, fake news, all that stuff. And so it's great [00:03:06] to see him out. So now we're going to have a new ruling coalition in the Parliament of Hungary led by Peter Magyar. That's the leader of the Conservative Party. ah And so we have 66 % of the votes counted. Right now they have his party on course to win 137 seats, more [00:03:24] than a two thirds majority, is, and that's just more than I had seen anyone predicting they could possibly do. So this is really just people rising up and taking down this regime that seemed so indomitable for so long. And there's a lot of things that the campaign focused on, [00:03:42] uh public anger about corruption. the misuse of billions of euros in EU funding, overall sluggish economic growth. I kind of feel like I'm talking about America just in that context. But anyway, and some similar things. Now again, I would have liked if theoretically there could [00:03:58] have been more sort of like a cultural response to some of what the authoritarians had focused on in Hungary. Some of the cultural stuff having to do with like LGBTQ community, immigration, stuff like that. That's not how it happened and whatever, it needed to happen this way, I suppose. So that is all good news, JR. What do you make of this? Yeah, I was loving this. [00:04:17] was watching, last week you mentioned you showed JD Vance having the phone call in front of the crowds and how they're interfering. JD Vance was defending his whole idea of going over there and trying to lean on this whole thing. Donald Trump posted right before this election, untrue social, we're going to use more American money to go and try and prop [00:04:36] up Hungary's economy only under Viktor Orban. It was like a literal greasing of it and be like, listen, I've got money. You guys want to buy got plenty of American people's money. I screwed them over a long time ago. It's great. I'm about to give it to you guys only if you elect Victor Orban and none of it worked. Instead it went way down. Way down. Down, down, down [00:04:56] with the Titanic. It's a big and it's a great illustration of even as these guys do these types of things to continue trying to lean on and be this dictatorial fascist type of government here that nobody wants this. And then that's why their answer is always just like what the [00:05:13] war in Iran that Donald Trump started, it's violence. And after that, they're like, well, you either listen to us or we're going to kill you. That's where we're headed. And so once they see this, I'm just curious, what is it going to say next? They need some excuses now that are outside the realms of he cheated. Actually, well, let's see where the betting market goes [00:05:32] on how soon Donald Trump says that Viktor Orban was cheated. Yeah, well, look, he has already resigned. So that's again, It is one thing to predict that he might get less votes. It's another to predict that he would actually give up power. He has done what Donald Trump refused [00:05:48] to do. I mean, I guess we'll see, he could try to reverse it or something. But that is good news. By the way, we've been fact checked that it's a prime ministerial election. I mean, it's a parliamentary election that resulted in prime minister being chosen. not a presidential election, apologies for that. We're American, what do you want out of us or whatever? But [00:06:05] anyway, good news. Now, it remains to be seen. much Magyar and the party are going to be able to accomplish in uh reversing the gradual destruction of democratic rights and access there. uh It is possible they'll do that. And by the way, if you do that, put in safeguards, [00:06:23] concrete safeguards against this happening again. It is also conceivable that politicians like having more power. So do you willingly give it up? I hope that they do. I hope that they can chart a course that eventually the Democrats- can follow here and reversing some of the damage Donald Trump and the MAGA movement had done. But it remains to be seen and we [00:06:41] will have to watch. You know what TYT has always been about? Taking on the corrupt, greedy establishment. For us, it's the corporate media.
