Progressives Oppose Manchin Bill
More House progressives are signing a letter urging House leadership not to attach a measure that would fast-track permitting for energy projects to a must-pass piece of legislation to keep the federal government funded past September 30. Climate justice activists and lawmakers have said Manchin's pipeline deal, according to the draft legislative language, would effectively silence Black, Brown, Indigenous, and low-income communities already disproportionately impacted by energy infrastructure projects. Rep Ro Khanna agrees.
Do you agree with Ana on the likelihood that progressive signatories will break their promise and vote yes if the government funding bill includes Manchin’s fossil fuel side deal?
