Fox News Host Gets Caught OFF-GUARD When Confronted About Trump Clip
Fox News' Will Cain was called out by Rep. Maxwell Frost for not understanding that President Trump said he wants to deport U.S. citizens.

We want to make sure that we draw
the line here at Kilmer Garcia,
because it's not just about him,
it's about the fact that in the Oval
Office, Donald Trump brought up
that he wants to do the same thing
to, quote unquote, homegrowns.
Homegrowns being U.S.
Citizens,
a complete violation of our Constitution.

until it gets to that point.
Fox host Will Cain either play dumb
or prove just how much of a media bubble
conservatives like him live in
when this happened just last night.
Take a look.
American citizens,
do you have that in front of you?

I've not seen that statement.
Can you please quote
where that comes from?
That he would like to deport
American citizens?
He said it in the Oval Office.
He said he wants to go
for homegrown people
born and raised in the United States.
- Citizen.
- Do you have anything?
And then do you have anything
besides your word on that?

I have not seen that.
So beyond your word,
do you have the source of that?
I would love to see that clip
or that transcript of him saying he wants
to deport American citizens.

So in summary, Fox News host Will Cain
did not believe Congressman Maxwell Frost
claim that President Donald Trump
had called for the deportation
of American citizens.
And we're going to get to his
so-called correction in just a second.
But first, let's actually remind everyone
of what Trump has said,

not just once, but repeatedly.
He's been saying this repeatedly
over the past few weeks.
Take a look.
We also have homegrown criminals
that push people into subways,
that hit elderly ladies on the back of
the head with a baseball bat when they're
[00:01:43]
not looking, that are absolute monsters.
I'd like to include them in the group
of people to get them out of the country.
I have suggested that, you know,
why should it stop just at people
that cross the border illegally?
We have some horrible criminals,
American grown and born.

I think if we could get
El Salvador or somebody.
But to take them,
I'd be very happy with it.
But I have to see what the law says.
So, Jake, do you believe Will Cain
actually had no idea about Trump's

statements about potentially deporting
American citizens to El Salvador?
I actually do.
I'm curious what you think, Anna.
He looked like he genuinely didn't know.
He's like, get a load of this guy
with this nonsense.
Talk about deporting American citizens.
I mean, he said it so confidently, and he
was so wrong that if he knew he was wrong.

And then they did. Oops.

And the reason why I believe him
is based on my own personal experiences.
Right.
So prior to really going out of my way
to make sure that I

diversified my media sources,
I was in the dark about certain realities.
Right?
Like certain details
to stories that we had been covering.
I hadn't, I like, hesitate to bring this
up because it's embarrassing, but I hadn't
watched the Rittenhouse video that showed
everything that happened that night.

And after I had watched it,
and it was obviously presented
during the trial, that informed my opinion
of that situation a lot better.
So I'm just trying to say that it's
very easy to find yourself in a filter
bubble because, look, as human beings,
we're also more likely to seek out sources
[00:03:34]
that validate what we already believe.
And these algorithms also don't help.
So if you're in the media,
if you're tasked with informing the public
about any given topic,
you really do need to go out of your way
to make sure that you've
diversified your sources and that you're
considering all perspectives.

It doesn't mean you have
to legitimize all perspectives,
but it's important to understand
the arguments made by all sides involved
and really understand what the facts
of any particular story happened to be.
He really did seem genuinely shocked
at what Congressman Frost
[00:04:07]
was mentioning there.
So I'll believe him.
I'll believe that, Will Cain didn't know
that Trump said these things.
But now that he does know
that Trump says these things,
is he going to be critical of Trump?
Is he okay with Trump?
You know, musing over the idea of, sending
American citizens to foreign countries?

I don't know. We'll see.
You know, we we do know,
he isn't, he loves it so.
And that's why look, I think it's I
think you're always way too tough on
yourself on the Rittenhouse, story.
And, you know, you and I have debated
that a couple of times.

But this is a guy, like, brazenly not
knowing an enormously important story and
making it seem like it's conspiratorial.
Then he's got to come back and eat crow.
Oh, yeah, he Trump did say that.
So then does does he get upset about it?
No he doesn't. So which one is it brother?

It was fantastical.
And there's no way in the world
Trump could have said that.
And we're all hysterical
for thinking that he said it or yeah,
he said it and it's awesome.
And we should.
That's goddamn right we should
take away American citizens rights.
Which one is it, brother? Which one is it?

So no, the reality is, Will Cain pretends
that he doesn't want it for Americans.
But as long as Trump says it, he's a
good boy, and he'll go and, you know, lick
Trump's boots and then try to justify it.
That's who apparently Will Cain is.
So at some point Will Cain realized,
oh, wow, Trump really did say this.

But, don't worry, he's not apologizing,
for the way he handled that interview
and the denialism he engaged in.
Let's take a look at the next clip.
After years of very fine people,
among other hoaxes, I'm suspicious of any
Democrat quoting President Trump
in full context, and I make no apologies.

None on not being able to know
or recall that specific clip, because it
doesn't reinforce my fever dream.
Handmaid's tale vision of America,
where Lily, who reads the bulwark

is about to be deported right after Kilmer
Garcia, President Donald Trump
was clearly talking about obeying the law.

I'm doubtful the law would allow him to
deport homegrown criminals, but it's a far
cry again from The Handmaid's Tale vision
of the next after Rego Garcia is, you.
Know, that's exactly what it is.

So, look, I'm also concerned that
people are becoming nervous wrecks
because they think they're going to get,
you know, in his, you know,
version of the story, scooped up on the
Upper West Side as they're walking along

and get put into a, you know,
a gulag here in America, etc..
Guys, no, the reason why I don't want you
to be a nervous wreck over that
is one it doesn't help you at all, to be
that worried and to be that scared, etc..
I don't want you scared.
I want you animated, and I want you to try
to stop things before they get worse.

And I want you to take good,
productive action to to do that.
And so and,
and it's there's 12 different steps
before we get to Trump saying that's it.
There are no laws anymore.
I'm not following the Supreme Court.
And, and and and yes, I'm now
setting up camps and I'm going to put

American citizens in them,
whether they're in El Salvador,
these camps are here in America, etc.
There's 12 steps along the way.
And so if you don't notice
that he took six of them, well, then
you're like, Will Cain and you're like.
Whatever, whatever, whatever.
I love Trump.
And.

So it's not fever dreams those.
He did take those steps.
He is talking about running
for a third term.
He did.
He he is saying we don't need due process.
And he's saying we don't need
due process for American citizens.
So if you're saying
that he's not going in that direction,

you're a goddamn liar like Will Cain.
Okay.
- Yeah.
- And by the way, hold on.
Let me finish real quick.
But at the same time, guys,
we've got to work super hard to make sure
he doesn't take the next six steps.
And panicking like he's already
at the end of that process
is not helpful to that cause.

So those are two different things. Sorry.

I just want to say it's totally fine
to practice skepticism when a claim is
made and you're not informed about
whether or not that claim has any merit.
But how about use a little bit of that
skepticism on the other side

of the political aisle as well, meaning,
in regard to what the Trump administration
is claiming and what they're up to.
You know, it's easy to be skeptical
of the other side.
It's much harder to self-reflect
or reflect on your own political side,
[00:08:35]
especially when you're in the role
of a media host or journalist.
But we could really use
a lot more of that skepticism when it
comes to one's own side these days.
Because holding your own side accountable
can actually lead
to your own side improving.
[00:08:52]
And so in this case, I would be, you know,
surprised if most Republican voters
would be in favor of
the federal government having the ability
to send American citizens
to a foreign country with no due process.
And so it's again, important to make sure
your own side is following the rule of law
[00:09:10]
and valuing constitutional rights.
And and, you know, fighting back when you
see that they're engaging in bad behavior.
Yeah.
Last thing on this.
So, will Cain make up your mind?
Right.
- So you saw that clip at the end there?
- I make no apologies.
Even though you were dead wrong.

The apology isn't. Hey, you.
I want you to apologize
for voting for Trump.
No. The apology is.
Hey, you didn't know what the hell was
going on in the news on a massively
important story where the president says,
I'm going to take away due process
from American citizens
and send them to dungeons in El Salvador.

You didn't know that.
Okay, so that's what the apology is for.
But then at the end,
he says something worse.
He's like, well, Trump said he'd
follow the law and I doubt the law
would allow him to do this.
Well, those two things are contradictory.
So takes a different law that's violated
and you can see
how contradictory they are.
If Trump said, well, I mean, I'll follow
the law, but I'm thinking about murdering

people, so I'll see if I can murder
people, but maybe I'll follow the law.
I guess I'll follow the law.
But but I'm really looking
into murdering them.
Will Cain would come out and go say.
He said he wanted to follow the law.
He said he wanted to follow the law. Okay.
I don't think the law
will let him murder people.
It's still Trump's awesome.
Trump is awesome.

What a great thing to say that you would
take away due process for Americans.
No it's not. It's a crappy thing to say.
It's what authoritarian douchebags say.
And there's stupid propagandists
like Will Keane that come out there
and do apologies for him.
So which side are you on?
Because now, look, we're we've been
very consistent on this and I'm and

and I'm going to say that we
were right about it because now we see
that half of Trump's voters,
or some percentage of Trump voters
are breaking against him.
And people like Joe Rogan are saying,
yeah, due process is Western civilization
and you do not get to take that away.

On the other hand, you have dogs like Will
Cain who say, oh, I hate America.
I hate our Constitution.
And if Trump wants to shred him,
I'll be the first SS soldier
signing up to help him shred it.
Admit it will.
What the hell does that mean?
Oh, he says he'll follow the law,
but hey, the law.

that you can send Americans
to a dungeon without due process.
Are you going to speak out against that?

So why don't you just be honest?
