Trump AGREES With Roe V. Wade?!
Former President Donald Trump said he plans to vote in favor of abortion rights in Florida.
- 9 minutes
You're going to vote in Florida
later this year.
I mean, have you made up your mind
how you're going to vote
in their, abortion referendum?
But I do want more than six weeks.
I want more than six weeks.
I think six weeks is a mistake.
[00:00:15]
And I'll be expressing that soon.
But I want more than six weeks.
And in Florida,
we have a six week program.
And that's what I believe
that you're voting on.
And I think it should be
more than six weeks.
[00:00:30]
During an interview with the Daily Mail,
by the way, he said something similar
to NBC news as well.
Donald Trump signaled that he plans to
vote against Florida's six week abortion
ban in an upcoming referendum that
would actually loosen these abortion
restrictions to the standard that the
[00:00:49]
state was able to enjoy under Roe v Wade.
Now, he called it a terrible mistake
when DeSantis first signed the ban.
But up to this point,
he's been kind of coy in answering
questions about the referendum.
Now he's making his
intentions pretty clear.
[00:01:05]
And like any politician,
he's checking the polls.
He's understanding how much
the abortion issue not only hurt him,
but hurt the Republican Party.
And so he is kind of going along with
what the majority of voters want here.
So let's take a look at Florida,
where the majority of voters
[00:01:21]
want to support this referendum, clearly.
So when asked about the ballot measure
that would make abortion legal
up until fetal viability,
again, that was the standard.
Under Roe v Wade, 57% of registered voters
in Florida say they would vote in favor
[00:01:37]
of abortion legality,
and 36% say they would vote against it.
Just 6% say that they're unsure.
Other polls found even greater support,
according to the poll
from University of North Florida's
Public Opinion Research Lab,
[00:01:52]
69% of respondents said
they would vote for amendment four,
which would prohibit laws from restricting
or banning abortion until fetal viability.
So constitutional amendments in Florida
need 60% of the vote
[00:02:08]
in order to become law.
And, you know, based on the polling,
it seems likely that the referendum
will in fact pass, which is good news.
But I guess in this case,
on a national level, the bigger news
is the fact that Donald Trump
is in favor of the referendum.
Hey, don't scroll away,
come back, come back.
[00:02:25]
Because before the video continues, we
just want to urge you to lend your support
to tight U power our honest reporting.
You do it at tight.com/team
and we love you for it.
Yeah so I Trump is inexplicable right.
[00:02:42]
So he helped to overturn Roe obviously
by putting three very conservative
Supreme Court justices on there that he
knew would overturn Roe versus Wade.
And then he bragged about it like, oh
yeah, I'm going to overturn overturn Roe.
I'm the greatest.
Okay. So now this ballot measure is Rho.
[00:02:59]
Rho said it's legal through two
trimesters, so about 23, 24 weeks when you
have viability and it's not legal in
the third trimester because then the state
has a legitimate interest in a baby.
That could be an independent life, right?
[00:03:16]
So now Trump is indicating
he's going to vote for that.
Then why'd you overturn Roe then?
So you're pro-choice, but you're
bragging about how pro-life you are
because in other words, he doesn't care.
He doesn't care at all.
He's just like,
oh, pro-lifers vote for me.
[00:03:32]
Pro-Choice people
all pretend to be on your side here.
Vote for me.
I mean, whose side is he actually on?
Who knows and who cares?
Like, I mean, this guy,
he never paid for an abortion in his life.
- Please.
- Okay, okay.
I have to jump in on this because I think
that the Republicans really did
[00:03:49]
underestimate how much this issue would
infuriate voters and how much it touches
the lives of so many different people,
including people
who want to have families.
So as some of you might know,
I have family in Florida.
And you know, some of those family members
had been hardcore Trump supporters
[00:04:07]
until Roe v Wade was overturned.
Okay, so I have one family member
who, you know, she's married, has a son
ready to have a second baby, was overjoyed
to find out that she was pregnant
and then far along in the pregnancy,
[00:04:22]
she finds out that she's, basically,
she's leaking fluids and the fetus
is slowly dying as a result of that.
It is.
It is an unviable pregnancy, non-viable.
So she goes to the doctor and the doctor
says, there's nothing I can do.
[00:04:40]
You're just going to have to wait
until you deliver a stillborn.
Because if I do an abortion,
I could face prosecution.
Yeah. These are radical, radical policies.
No longer a Republican, this is someone
that I would engage in debates with okay,
[00:04:56]
like hardcore debates with and she's like,
I feel so stupid for supporting the party
that's doing this to me.
Yeah, look, I do calls for people
who donate over $100 at sitcom slash team.
And I talked to someone yesterday
who said that they
[00:05:11]
watched the show with their mom.
Now she's 71 years old, and now
that she they have gin every Tuesday
and watch the show, I think it's awesome.
And she now that she watches us,
she's like,
I can't believe the media lied to me.
I thought I was a conservative
for 71 years.
[00:05:27]
It turns out I'm not conservative at all.
So it's because of the framing,
the framing that they do.
But when you actually see it
in your own life,
like what happened to small government,
here's big government getting between you
and your doctor,
making the single most personal decision
you could possibly make on your behalf.
[00:05:45]
I mean, you want to talk about tyrannical
government messing with your life.
So now Trump realizes,
oh, oops, my proposal.
What I did is enormously unpopular.
If I go with the the so-called pro-life
position, I'm going to get clobbered
[00:06:01]
because America hates it, right?
Right.
So a lie about what the
Democratic position is,
which we'll get to in a second,
and then I'll pretend I'm pro-choice.
And that's kind of the scummy
politician that he is now.
After he gave that interview
to the Daily Mail, after he spoke
[00:06:17]
to an NBC reporter backstage at a rally.
He then comes out to speak
to the audience and talks about.
It's just so frustrating.
He talks about how there are six states
that have legalized
[00:06:33]
aborting the fetus after it's born.
So I don't
why can't you just take the win?
Right.
Supporting the referendum,
I think, is the right thing to do.
Saying that you're going to vote
in favor of that Florida referendum
is the right thing to do.
[00:06:48]
Then you turn around and you just
make up a complete and utter lie
about they're not fetuses at that point.
It is a viable human being outside
of the womb that has been delivered.
Killing that living being is murder.
We have laws against that.
But he says that six states
allow for that to happen.
[00:07:06]
Yeah. So this is so frustrating.
So Governor Northam of Virginia, back
when he was he did one interview where he
was talking about a case where the baby's
born, but it's has a fatal condition.
It's definitely going to die
and it's on ICU.
[00:07:23]
And then the parents and the doctors
have to talk through,
what are we going to do, you know?
And a lot of families have to face
this horrible, horrible decision
with their parents
when they get older after an accident.
In the case of some babies that have fatal
conditions, and it's a normal decision
you have to make and it's heart wrenching.
[00:07:39]
And he's talking about that.
The Republicans took that and go, now
they're killing them after they're born.
It's post-birth abortion.
Look, guys, it's just not true.
I don't know how to drill it
into your heads that it's not true.
Go back and listen to the interview
and they're talking about a kid, the baby
[00:07:55]
who was born with a fatal condition
that has nothing to do with abortion.
They wanted the baby.
They desperately wanted the baby.
And and so that from that one BS
misinterpretation on purpose
of that interview, they've made it.
Now, six states have made it legal
to murder babies after they're born.
[00:08:16]
Well, look, guys, if you believe that
you're definitely going to vote for Trump
because you'll believe anything,
you'll believe that Jesus Christ is going
to come back in the form of RFK Jr
and make love to Donald Trump, and that's
going to create the next whatever, right?
You're going to believe any lunatic
conspiracy theory that comes along for
the rest of us that live on planet Earth.
[00:08:33]
Of course, six states in America
do not allow for the murder of babies
after they're born.
Jesus Christ, man,
this is why you can't vote for Trump
no matter who the other person is.
Trump's a maniac, total maniac
making up outrageous lies and what's you
[00:08:52]
know what the giant problem with this is,
now 30% of the country is going to believe
that Democrats murder babies
after they're born.
They're going to believe it
with all their hearts, and they're going
to believe it for the rest of their lives.
And then they're going to be like, what do
we do about these baby killing Democrats?
[00:09:09]
Somebody's got to do something.
Anybody got a Second Amendment remedy?
So that's how he drives this country
into division and hatred.
It's through these unbelievable lies.
It's exhausting.
It's definitely exhausting.
I'm so sick of it.
So, like, again, you said something that
and are going to do something
[00:09:27]
that's actually very popular
even among conservative voters.
Take the win.
Why do you have to then do
something counterproductive by lying?
