Trump SUED for Targeting Black Officials in Government Shake-Up
Trump SUED for Targeting Black Officials in Government Shake-Up
- 6 minutes
Donald Trump is being sued again, not for being
a bad person. Can you see somebody being just
a terrible person? Let's just think about that.
This is more specific. This time Trump is being
[00:00:18]
sued because he fired most of the black people
in government. You pick them. We need to reckon
with that. Black former National Transportation
Safety Board member fired by President Donald
[00:00:36]
Trump arguing in a new lawsuit that race discrimination
shaped the administration's termination of
officials at independent agencies. I already
agree, but I see one flaw. It wasn't just at
the independent agencies. It was everywhere.
And he encouraged it, even at universities,
[00:00:56]
all these other places. But I'm digging what
you're selling here. Alvin Brown, Democrat
nominated by former President Joe Biden, said
political differences alone could not account
for his abrupt discharge in May 2025, according
to a complaint filed Tuesday in the U.S. District
[00:01:14]
Court of District of Columbia. Brown's attorney
says 75%, three quarters of black officials
at independent agencies have been fired under
Trump. Government jobs. If you're a black
person, you know what I mean when I say that.
These are some good jobs, government jobs,
[00:01:34]
okay? This is what is talked about in a lot
of black households. Not anymore. They're not
recession proof, not for you. Mr. Brown's removal
from the NTSB cannot be explained by the fact
that Mr. Brown is a Democrat and President Trump
might have wanted to exert Republican control
[00:01:52]
over the board, Lawsuit states. At the time
of Mr. Brown's removal from the NTSB, there
were two other Democrats serving on the board.
New Republic and some of the details. Since
Brown's firing was racially motivated, the lawsuit
alleges it therefore violated Mr. Brown's constitutional
[00:02:11]
rights under the Fifth Amendment. Lawsuit also
points to people of color being dismissed at
agencies including the National Labor Relations
Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission,
Federal Reserve, and the Library of Congress.
You even went to the Library of Congress and
[00:02:30]
tackled all this nonsense? Lawsuit cited Trump's
attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion
programs and the fact that Brown's replacement,
John DeLue, is white.
[00:02:47]
President Trump has removed black Senate confirmed
appointees. He has either nominated a non-black
individual for their replacement or has not
formally replaced them at all, the lawsuit
states. This trend fits with President Trump's
consistent messaging, criticizing diversity
[00:03:03]
and inclusion, and his clear and demonstrable
emphasis on hiring white people. So here we
are America. It's not about. Who's the best
and the brightest? It's not about only the
[00:03:22]
best people. If it were, Donald Trump wouldn't
have half the things he got in his life through
white privilege. He wouldn't have nearly any
of them. He told us to inject bleach. That's
not the best and the brightest. It's not bright.
It's not bright. So instead, this assault,
[00:03:42]
this attack, maybe he should be afraid of people
of color, women. because he doesn't want to
compete. Those of us who sit opposite this
kind of behavior are not, I'm not afraid to
[00:04:01]
compete. Are you afraid to compete? I just think
competition makes you better. You can grow,
you can do more. Or you can say, I don't want
to compete. I want to declare myself superior.
And I can use my power to keep blacks who
already did not have equal footing out of
[00:04:22]
anything. they cheat. What say you Elliot? Yeah,
the racism is just, it's so brazen. I don't
think this is the most surprising story. um
I think it's great that it's being called out
and it's incredibly predictable, but it just
blows my mind. I this guy is our president
[00:04:42]
and I think it's dispelling the myth, hopefully
for a lot of people that none of this stuff
matters or that none of this stuff is still
with us. It's so on the nose. And for an administration
that's been obsessed with quote unquote DEI
for so long, this is a great example for why
[00:04:59]
you need it and why you need diversity and why
you need different perspectives. Like having
different viewpoints makes you better able
to understand. whatever it is and having different
backgrounds gives you different perspectives.
It's a very obvious and good thing. And so
you can either embrace that or you can look
at the alternative, which is having this buffoon
[00:05:19]
at the highest purchase of office, making these
kinds of calls. And I opt for the first one
because the second one is just a nightmare that
we're all living in. It is a nightmare. And
it's just so bizarre to me. I enjoy vanilla
ice cream sometimes, but I generally put toppings
[00:05:36]
and things. And sometimes I want them mixed
in. Like there's that one brown, that uh conscious
brand rather, that they got taken over, right?
Ben and Jerry's. And they got the little brownies
in there and stuff. It just makes it delicious,
okay? And yet you want everything to look
[00:05:55]
like you? And look how you look, Donald Trump.
And you only want to be with people like you.
You and Stephen Miller. That's the best. and
the brightest. I'm stunned by all of it. No,
I'm not. That's a lie. I'm actually not stunned.
This is expected. He is in this instance.
[00:06:16]
The war is over here, but this is exactly what
he said he was going to do. And yes, you should
sue every time. Tie up the courts with these
lawsuits because it's not right and we have
to push back.
