Mr. Jonathan Majors falls through a window during uh the set or on the set of Daily Wire, the Daily Wire film. Here's some video and I have an update. [00:00:31] Yeah. Good? I'm good. You good? I'm good, man. Did we shoot it? We shot it. Use it. All right, put it up full mass. So this has sparked some response and reaction. You just saw the video, [00:00:47] Jonathan Majors, he has a new action movie, backed by Ben Shapiro's The Daily Wire. ah Dallas, a bonfire legend, Sonya's bonfire legend is facing scrutiny following an onset accident and a crew strike. The IATSE, against the production on March 26th over a series of labor [00:01:14] issues, not just this one, but other ones as well. The union attempted to sign a contract with the production in order to secure payment into the union's health and pension funds. However, things got more serious as the safety concerns grew over the past five weeks of production. [00:01:34] have not denied any of the allegations. Deadline spoke with several crew members who have since stopped work on the production, who say the strike effort gained steam at the top of last [00:01:51] week after a major's co-star accidentally tumbled out of a window while filming a scene in a statement to Deadline. So the representatives wrote, quote, that the actor, co-stars doing [00:02:08] well and was taken care of immediately by production. J.C. did not feel unsafe on the set, continues to have a positive experience working on the project, the rep ad. Now this is the job, okay? While there seems to have been the inciting uh event for the strike, crew members walked [00:02:28] off the job to a deadline that it was just the tip of the iceberg in terms of their concerns. multiple workers corroborated incidents involving props falling on the crew, including a rigged tree branch that hit the set medic. Several crew also confirmed there were no meetings [00:02:51] with department heads or writer director Kyle Rankin, a head of complex stunts, or the use of prop firearms. We hear the production has been using airsoft guns. Outreach to the armor [00:03:07] and prop master to determine set safety protocols surrounding firearms were not returned. In fact, one crew member with decades of experience told Deadline, They witnessed quote, no normal production activities, end quote. on set such as the presence of a unit production manager [00:03:29] or even a crew list. Quote, you couldn't find anybody. You didn't know who they were. They said adding their crew eventually began circulating a quote black market crew list to try to identify their colleagues themselves. Dail on also understands that the production required a location change [00:03:47] after crew pushed back on the use of space that was infested with black mold. Producers. forward with the location even after a contractor warned that the building was likely constructed with asbestos. And it should be properly tested. Instead, crew discovered the mold on their [00:04:08] own and as they prepped the location, quote, they didn't really care about the long term effects on the crew, end quote, one of the former said laborers told Deadline, quote, I don't think it even crossed their minds because they're so inept. um I have more, the extreme incompetence [00:04:28] or the lack of expertise is quite appalling. When you combine all of that into one production, you see many expressions of the incompetence unfolding as well incidents as they're calling [00:04:49] them. There's more. So members, of the crew said they've also raised concerns about special effects supervisor Chris Bailey, who has previously pled guilty to illegal. possession of explosives [00:05:07] on a movie set. Can we back up just for a moment? He's probably cheap right now because of the situation. um It may be cutting corners um financially in order to have these individuals [00:05:27] on set. there's a concern here about him having the illegal, alleged illegal fire uh explosives. He was prohibited from handling explosive materials. because of a prior criminal conviction, according to a 2021 press release from the Department of Justice. The special [00:05:46] effects supervisor on a movie set is responsible for designing and executing practical in camera effects such as explosions, pyrotechnics, rigs, atmospheric elements. When reached by deadline, Bailey called the incident a quote, paperwork infraction and said no, pyro was mishandled, [00:06:06] end quote. By the time that the crew went on strike last week, more than 60 % had signed union cards affirming they wanted a collective bargaining agreement via the union IATSE. However, [00:06:22] the firm's producers have made it quite clear they have no intention of doing so. In response to deadline, Sonier said, quote, the entire industry is in a free fall due to strikes. [00:06:38] And now that their members are out of work, they're trying to sabotage a few people who are still producing. We don't negotiate with communists, is the statement. That's after his previous statement when he first reported the news of the union's efforts in which he [00:06:53] said he and his fellow producers were quote, too busy being badasses, blowing ish up, flying helicopters and killing movie terrors to concern ourselves with four a-holes. with signs on the sidewalk and their illegitimate strike, yeah. [00:07:12] um you all are going to cost the investors a lot of money. Sir, I'll do respect. And if they keep you, yeah, they should have to pay out, especially after that ridiculous statement [00:07:29] that could be utilized in the court of law against you for liability. All right, Jackson, thoughts. Man, I just, Jonathan May's fall from grace has just been amazing. To go from basically [00:07:47] being one of Marvel's steady in-house people, he was there. He was there and then everything went south the way that it did. But I'm like, damn, Ben Shapiro, the only person you could have went with, you couldn't have went with Tyler Perry or something. I don't know somebody [00:08:05] else got to be hiring. um But I mean, it's good that he's okay, but it's just, you know, you can never take anything for granted and you got to do your best to treat people well because you never know. Karma is a funny thing. Sometimes it doesn't come for you and sometimes it does. [00:08:24] Yeah. And you can find yourself working for Ben Shapiro.
