If you noticed a little more redness in the eyes of TYT hosts than usual this week and the occasional sniffle or prolonged, wistful gaze into the distance, the reason isn’t increased cannabis consumption, coronavirus sweeping through the studio or anything else of that nature - it’s because we’re losing Emma Vigeland. That’s right, Emma is moving on, taking on a new role as host and producer with The Majority Report. And while we of course wish her well, we can’t help but feel a bit saddened by her departure, and the gaping news hole her absence will leave in our hearts.

In this clip from The Damage Report, John and crew give Emma a proper sendoff, with the requisite tears and expressions of mutual affection and appreciation for the great work done together during the four years Emma has been with the network. And as a special tribute, in an unprecedented move, the show’s producers end the segment by ceremonially “retiring” Emma’s jersey, as a tribute both to her contribution to the program and her love of sports.
