The Young Turks: April 01, 2014

Cenk hosting today.  Conservatives are still hating on ObamaCare based on the website when the enrollment numbers are at the projected level.  Americans in favor of the law has reached a 49-40% approval vs disapproval rating.  Fox News covered the estimated number of enrollees to ObamaCare with a highly misleading chart that shows 6M vs 7M as a huge difference in order to discourage enrollment on the deadline.  After it was pointed out, Bill Hemmer made the correction after the discouragement period was over.  Videos of Fox News’ Jenna Lee actually following up on Sen Graham’s empty talking points about how we should repeal the law and also replace it, but with no real answer on what to put in its place.  Video of Thad Cochran’s ad bragging about how he voted against ObamaCare over 100 times.  Local elections in Turkey just recently wrapped up, and after a random power outage all over the country that kept many people from voting, the officials excused the incident by claiming a cat walked into a transformer.  CA Rep Dana Rohrabacher has been out vehemently defending Russia’s actions in Crimea, going so far as to claim that Putin is demonized in America.  After all of this support, Rohrabacher complained to the NYT that he hasn’t even gotten a ‘thank you’ or word back from Russia.  Steven Seagal is also stepping up to protect Putin from criticism after recently visiting the country.  After the Senate’s findings that the CIA did conduct torture on prisoners, the findings are still being held by the CIA, but leaks are coming out.  While Dick Cheney was speaking at American University, he claimed he’d to the torture program all over again since the results speak for themselves.  Video of a few dozen students at the university walking out on his speaking engagement as a protest.  Dick Cheney and George W. Bush had to cancel appearances in Canada and Switzerland due to the possibility that they could be arrested for being war criminals. Ana joins Cenk for SCS.  Fox News’ Hannity is tackling the dangers of Spring Breakers doing drugs and drinking tons of alcohol.  The segment included Bob Beckel while they ran constant footage of young women dancing in bikinis.  OKCupid is asking its users to no longer use Mozilla Firefox as a browser for their website surfing since the CEO of Firefox is adamantly against gay rights.  Some employees of Mozilla are speaking out against the CEO as well.  A new app for iPhone users allows them to make selfies look better by taking off some weight of the picture from 5-15 lbs.  Some liberal outlets are speaking out against this app.  Ana is only against the lying for online dating purposes, but Cenk is all for it. Police arrested a woman that was house-ridden and suffering from cancer for failing to re-register her dog’s license.  The $5 fine turned into a warrant, and eventual arrest.  A tourism company in Denmark is promoting that people procreate while they are on a trip to the country through their business.  If someone can prove they conceived while on the particular trip, the prize is “3 years of baby stuff.”  One of the reasons for this the company’s policy is to help the country get their birth rate up since it’s too low to maintain.  A school district in TN has allowed groups to pass out Christian literature at its elementary schools.  The ACLU and an Atheist group fought this decision, and was awarded the same privileges to hand out their material.  The GOP in Arizona has granted a private prison company $1 million since their guaranteed money from the state to house inmates wasn’t reached due to a lack of prisoners.
