Texas attorney general Ken Paxton has just declared that Austin Independent school district’s traditional celebration of Pride Week is in violation of Texas law, claiming that the event qualifies as “sex education” without parental consent. The school district has celebrated their LGBTQ+ community for at least eight years prior to the bigoted overhaul of Texas’ education laws.
