The largest grassroots progressive organization MoveOn is going to officially endorse Nina Turner for Ohio’s 11th congressional district.

Nina Turner, who worked as co-chair for Sen. Bernie Sanders' presidential run, kicked off her campaign mid-December, and immediately garnered the support of progressives including Sen. Sanders, Rep. Ro Khanna and the Justice Democrats among many others. MoveOn's endorsement is the latest to add to the list. The announcement, first reported on TYT, was made by by the progressive group Tuesday evening.

78% of voting MoveOn members in the 11th district of Ohio support Turner. They applaud her previous work for Ohioans and her commitment to progressive values.

In a statement Rahna Epting, Executive Director of MoveOn Political Action Committee, said “We need more leaders like Nina Turner in Congress, and Ohio MoveOn members agree that her tenacity and dedication to fighting for working-class Ohioans will make her a strong congresswoman."

Epting added, "Ms. Turner has worked hard throughout her career in Ohio politics as a champion for fair labor, housing, and women’s rights... She’s more than ready to serve in Congress and push to create an America that works for everyone.”

Ana Kasparian calls this endorsement "super-exciting" and hopes that "Nina Turner continues to receive the endorsement that she deserves."

Nina Turner is running for the House seat vacated by Rep. Marcia Fudge, who was selected for a Biden Cabinet post.

Kasparian says her race is consequential for progessives and praised MoveOn's endorsement of Turner. "She's been a warrior in the fight for healthcare, she's been a fighter for the Green New Deal, which is a proportional response to what this planet is facing as a result of human activity and I really do commend Move on for endoring her," she said.

Co-host Aida Rodriguez agreed, saying, "I'm excited for her. I'm a Nina Turner fan." Rodriguez said, "she steps into the direct fire sometimes for people. We need more people in congress like that."
