Trump JUST CAN'T STOP Throwing Jabs At Elon Musk
The feud continues between President Trump and Elon Musk with drug allegations.
- 14 minutes
Joining us now is someone who just
got off the phone with the president.
Dana, what did he tell you?
Well, he said that he's quote,
well, here's exactly what he said.
Quote, I'm not even thinking about Elon.
He's got a problem.
The poor guy's got a problem.
He said he won't be speaking
to him for a while,
[00:00:18]
but he said he wishes Elon Musk well.
Donald Trump is still throwing
some jabs at Elon Musk a day
after their explosive public showdown.
But is there hope for a reconciliation?
We'll give you the latest
on the spat between the two.
[00:00:35]
But first, Jake, what are your thoughts
overall now about 24 hours removed
from the first public brawl?
I'm not thinking about it.
I just know that Elon's got a big problem.
You know what I mean?
New York Times story about the ketamine.
I mean, I'm not thinking about it.
I just say he's got a problem.
[00:00:52]
Okay, so these guys have too
big an ego to just let it go.
So there's a lot more
where this came from.
And I think they're super interesting.
Question is how do they move forward?
Do they pass a bill?
Do they not pass a bill?
[00:01:07]
Do some Republicans go on Trump's side?
Do some go on must side.
And what does it mean to go on. Must side.
There's so many interesting questions.
So let's hear more about what's going on.
And then we'll analyze it.
After a full day of brutal
attacks back and forth.
[00:01:24]
Things have calmed down a bit
between Donald and Elon,
but there's also some clear indication
that Trump still wants revenge,
starting with his plans for a Tesla
he bought and put on display
at the white House just a few months ago.
Take a look.
[00:01:39]
When you walk to the broadcasting tents
here on the north side,
you see West Executive Drive.
That's the driveway
between the white House
and the old Executive Office building.
There is a Tesla there that President
Trump bought during a Tesla demo
on the South Lawn a few months ago
to try to help Elon Musk's business
[00:01:56]
while it was being vandalized.
We are told that that Tesla still sitting
there, the red Tesla with Florida tags is
either going to be given away or sold off.
ABC's Jonathan Karl also reported
earlier today that in a phone conversation
[00:02:12]
this morning, real Donald Trump told
Jonathan Karl that Elon Musk is the man
who has lost his mind.
Trump did not, however, seem angry
or even concerned about the feud.
As for reports that there is going to be
a Trump and Musk call scheduled for today,
[00:02:29]
Trump told me that he is not particularly
interested in talking to Musk, although he
says Musk wants to talk to him.
Elon Musk, on the other hand,
seems a bit more willing to put down his
sword or in this case, his phone.
Despite calling for Trump's impeachment
and accusing him of being
[00:02:46]
in the Epstein files. 24 hours ago,
hedge fund manager Bill Ackman,
who is an ally of both men, wrote on X.
I support real Donald Trump
and Elon Musk and they should make peace
for the benefit of our great country.
[00:03:02]
We are much stronger together than apart.
To which Musk responded, you're not wrong.
In addition, after originally threatening
to decommission a SpaceX capsule called
Dragon that's used to take astronauts
and supplies to the ES, he walked it back.
[00:03:22]
You can see this exchange here.
This is a shame.
This back and forth.
You are both better than this.
Cool off
and take a step back for a couple days.
And he said, good advice.
Okay, we won't decommission Dragon.
However, Elon is still speaking out
about the spending bill that started
[00:03:39]
this whole fight in the first place, and
has reposted predictions that Republicans
will lose in the 2026 midterms.
So, Jank, my question to you is
will this feud ever be resolved?
Yeah, that's a great question.
I really don't know.
Again, it's not a statement
I make often on the show.
[00:03:57]
I don't know.
But they have two giant egos
on top of that.
They're both deeply Unstable.
They're constantly flying off the handle.
I mean, Trump's the king of that, right?
Normally this time,
Ellen definitely started the fight.
And then, you know, you look at that story
that The New York Times had about.
[00:04:16]
Now, look, it's impossible to know
what to believe and trust.
And and I know the New York Times
is sometimes very accurate
and sometimes not at all accurate.
But they, you know,
their reporting is that Ellen's taking
a significant amount of drugs, right?
[00:04:32]
Not a little, but apparently a lot daily.
Right.
So take do with that what you will.
But could that lead him
to flying off the handle?
Sure it could. Is he going to solve that?
I don't know about that.
Are they going to solve their egos?
[00:04:48]
No. Is Trump going to resolve
his lack of mental stability?
No. But on the other hand,
Trump is a king of bygones.
Be bygones. Is vice president.
Called him Hitler before and he let
that go and picked him to be VP.
[00:05:04]
So you never know, right?
But overall, to me, one of the interesting
things about this is like, yeah, okay,
we're all talking about the catfight, but
what are you going to do with the bill?
Or is Elon right
that there's not enough cuts?
[00:05:20]
I don't agree with that.
I think there are too many cuts.
Is he right?
Recently, he liked and reposted a post
about how there's
too many tax cuts in the bill.
Ooh, interesting.
I think he's right about that.
If he believes that and that,
it creates way too much of a deficit.
[00:05:37]
I think he's right about that.
And so we'll talk more about this
as we go, particularly the MAGA reaction
and how they're split.
But I did do a poll on Twitter
for what it's worth.
And it is on X, which is Elon's platform.
But, you know, generally,
whose side are you on?
[00:05:53]
And with around 20,000 votes so far,
it's 6337 Elon.
Interesting.
So, Jackson, what do you think?
That is interesting that it's,
that percentage for Ellen.
I think that has a goes to show a lot of
just kind of how, prevalent Donald Trump
[00:06:13]
has become within the country's psyche.
You know, I guess we're a little bit more
used to dealing with him, being head on.
Maybe that's it.
But for me, I think this is an
interesting situation because Elon Musk
really needs to tread lightly
because at the end of the day,
and never, ever forget the tweet
that Donald Trump put out
[00:06:30]
in his first administration,
where he basically says something along
the lines of, If Elon Musk didn't get all
the government subsidies that he does,
he would be worthless, among other things.
That's essentially what he said.
And a couple days ago,
he kind of tweeted something out that kind
of alluded to, like, it'd be a shame,
you know what I'm saying?
[00:06:45]
If we cut those subsidies off.
So he really needs to tread lightly,
because right now Donald Trump
just has way more power than, than Elon.
Also, Elon Musk is in a bad position
when it comes to the companies
that he's the CEO of because as we know,
you know, he didn't invent these products.
[00:07:01]
And as you pointed out,
he's on a whole cocktail of drugs.
It's not like he's just, oh,
I got a little bit of a Coke problem.
He got a everything problem all day.
And actually, I remember back in 2018 when
I founded Autoscope, some of the venture
capitalists that we were dealing with and
stuff, they said that about him years ago.
They were like, oh yeah, Elon Musk
is ripped out of his mind constantly,
[00:07:19]
and anybody who's been following me
for any amount of time
knows I have long despised Elon Musk.
So this is just a glorious time for me.
But when it comes to Doge,
I mean, at the end of the day,
the goal for them to cut $2 trillion
was obviously a complete failure.
But they still caught he still caused
a lot of damage firing people all across
[00:07:37]
the administrative state, making cuts to
the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
You know, Meals on Wheels,
food stamps, going after Medicaid,
which isn't anything new,
causing troubles for Social Security, the
Veterans Affairs, pretty much everything
within the administrative state.
[00:07:54]
They're trying to gut it,
which, again, is nothing new.
But overall, Elon Musk has been a failure
in his position
and he should probably take it easy a
little bit before he loses his subsidies.
I think I think you touched on it.
I think you hit the nail on the head
in what you touched on
in the first part of your comments.
I think if we're going to talk about
whether or not these two can reconcile,
[00:08:12]
it depends on their egos and if their
egos continue to get in the way.
I don't see a stable path forward
where they can live in harmony.
This is what fueled it.
You saw Musk bringing up
the Epstein documents and Trump talking
[00:08:29]
about cutting Elon's contracts.
I mean, they're both getting to what they
know will get under each other's skin.
The right as we'll get into in our
next block has tried to spin this
as two guys debating.
None of that has anything
to do with policy
or differences of political opinion.
It is how do I hurt you the most?
[00:08:46]
And for Musk, it is his value.
It is his share prices.
It is a, you know,
tens of billions of dollars in government
funds flowing into his companies.
And for Musk, going back to Trump,
it's you're in the Epstein documents.
[00:09:01]
Neither of those two things
come from people or those are neither
of those are positions from people
who mean well in this argument.
So I, I hope they continue.
I hope they continue fighting
because it fractures the right
and then also sets up an environment
for the midterms where Elon Musk,
[00:09:20]
out of spite, funds primary challengers
and weakens Republicans
going into the general.
So I'm all for it.
I hope they continue fighting.
Yeah.
Before we move on, Jake,
anything else you want to add?
Yeah. Real quick, a couple of things.
So first of all,
I said I'm not in favor of the cuts.
I want to be clear.
I would be in favor of cuts
to the Pentagon
[00:09:37]
and to all the corporate subsidies
that we give for no reason at all.
I never understand why the American
taxpayer has to subsidize some
of the richest corporations in the world.
I think, you know, in terms
of how it's going to go from now on,
[00:09:53]
certainly the early indications
are very, very bad because,
Laura Ingraham was on the air yesterday
and I think it was with Charlie Kirk, and
he said, oh, things might be fine, etc..
And then Laura Ingraham was like,
my sources are telling me
that the damage is, quote, irreparable.
[00:10:08]
Right.
And so here's one more thing that if they
cut it, then that cord between Trump
and Musk becomes more irreparable.
If Donald Trump follows through
on his promise
of cutting not just Elon Musk's subsidies,
[00:10:23]
but the contracts he has
with the government, well,
then we're going to have a huge, huge war
that continues for a long time.
And I don't know how that war ends.
And by the way, the most important part
of this might be the thing that nobody's
talking about, which is Golden Dome.
[00:10:39]
So Elon Musk was trying to get hundreds
of billions of dollars for his companies
through that nonsense Golden Dome project.
Now, if he costs himself that by,
you know, doing these attacks, Jackson
might be right that Elon will get hurt
a lot more than Trump in the long run.
[00:10:58]
But but having some significant portion
of his base question him
is a first for Trump.
It's not that, as I've been
saying all along, in this second term
took a lot of flak for it,
but as you can see, I turned out to be
true that no, a lot of people will
[00:11:15]
disagree with Trump going forward.
Even I didn't expect
this kind of spectacular disagreement.
And in World War three this early. Right.
But
but yeah, they were willing to disagree.
But since this is World War three,
this is not oh my God, Tucker Carlson
[00:11:30]
and Mark Levin are fighting.
And hey, somebody disagreeing
with Trump here and there.
This is a giant break in in MAGA.
And that can't be good for Trump either.
And then finally, you know.
[00:11:46]
It's tough to come back
from that Epstein document line.
It's super tough, right?
Because and I think that Elon,
probably since he's a child,
was couldn't wait to use that line.
Right.
He was probably boiling over
on not getting the electric vehicle
[00:12:04]
subsidies this whole time.
And a couple other things that he wanted,
the NASA administrator, etc..
Right?
And he was getting angrier and angrier.
And these two can't contain themselves.
So I guarantee you
he had it in his mind for weeks.
I can't wait to tweet about Epstein
if he messes with me enough.
[00:12:20]
And so then he does.
But then, oops,
that that bridge might be so burned
that it just doesn't exist anymore.
So we'll see.
And look to, to Jordan's point
on where do we fall on on this?
[00:12:38]
For me, it's always about policy.
So if it kills the bill that was going
to put another at least $2.4 trillion on
the debt and give, you know, the rich, at
least another $1.7 trillion for no reason.
That's just people making above 500,000.
Let alone all the other goodies in there.
[00:12:54]
And if it ends that and and a lot
of other bad things in that bill,
that I'm thrilled about it and let's hope
it keeps going, but it probably won't.
They'll probably repair at least
the bill portion and go forward.
But even if it weakens them,
so far haven't been exactly thrilled
[00:13:11]
with how they're going.
So, Doge.
Look, Doge said they were going
to cut defense.
They didn't.
Doge said they were going
to cut 2 trillion.
Of course, that was comical.
Jackson's right.
That was never going to happen.
So they claim they cut 140 billion.
Later in the show.
We're going to show you they're
actually adding a lot of those jobs back,
[00:13:26]
because they cut it in a way
that was maniacal and made no sense.
So they've done almost no good so far
and a lot of damage.
So if this mitigates their ability
to do damage, great super.
Last thing on it is, on the other hand,
if it brings Steve Bannon back into
[00:13:42]
more power, that's a giant mixed bag too,
because Bannon says, hey,
maybe we should raise taxes on the rich.
I agree with that, but I disagree
with everything else, Bannon says.
Massively. Right.
So I don't want him back in power.
You see how complicated this is?
[00:13:59]
But overall, if it slows them down
from doing damage,
that's a win for the country.
Every time you ring the bell below,
an angel gets his wings.
Totally not true, but it does
keep you updated on our live shows.
