Clay Higgins is a racist and has been his entire career, all the way back to when he admitted he voted for David Duke, who at the time was a, you know, a known grand wizard of the KKK. And he also in 2007 assaulted an unarmed black man and lied about it. [00:00:15] The man is a racist and he put it on paper and he's unapologetic for it. But the story that spurred that commentary Yes, has to do with Republican Congressman Clay Higgins, who is under fire for a brazen and blatantly racist tweet, [00:01:07] he wrote amid the wave of falsehoods he and his party have been spreading about Haitian migrants in Ohio. So in responding to a Haitian group in Springfield that has decided to file a citizen criminal charge against Trump and Vance for amplifying lies about Haitians [00:01:25] in Springfield eating pets, Higgins wrote this on x lol. These Haitians are wild eating pets. Voodoo. Nastiest country in the Western hemisphere. Colts, slapstick gangsters, but damned if they don't feel all sophisticated. [00:01:40] Now filing charges against our president and VP. All these thugs better get their mind right and their ass out of there. Out of our country before January 20th. Now, after sending that tweet, some Democrats went to Higgins on the floor [00:01:57] and demanded that he take it down. Higgins responded by saying, I'm not taking it down. I don't respond to threats. According to Representative Becca Balint, a Democrat from Vermont, Higgins eventually did delete the post, and according to speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican, of course, his decision came [00:02:15] after some serious conversations with God. Let's watch. Clay Higgins is a dear friend of mine and a colleague from Louisiana, and a very frank and outspoken person. He's also a very principled man, and I think he tweeted, I didn't even see it. [00:02:31] But he tweeted something today about Haitians. And he was he was he was he was approached by January 20th. Okay. Well, look, he was approached on the floor by colleagues who said that was offensive. He went to the back. I just talked to him about it. He said he went to the back and he prayed about it and he regretted it. [00:02:46] And he pulled the post down. That's what you want a gentleman to do. I'm sure he probably regrets some of the language he used. But, you know, we move forward. We believe in redemption around here. Unfortunately, Mike Johnson is unaware of the type of conversation that Clay Higgins had with God because he actually decided [00:03:05] to say that he doesn't regret the tweet. Here's a statement to CNN. He says it's all true. I can put up another controversial post tomorrow if you want me to. I mean, we do have freedom of speech. I'll say what I want. It's not a big deal to me. [00:03:22] It's like something stuck to the bottom of my boot. Just scrape it off and move on with my life. Representative Steven Horsford, the chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, filed a resolution to censure Higgins, [00:03:37] but that won't be considered until after the election when the House is back in session. They're on recess now. They work very hard. So earned recess. So. So I thought it was fascinating watching the speaker of the House Christ, wash this racism and lies. We have to remember that Mike Johnson and MAGA and Trump and the Republican Party [00:03:56] fight for zero actual teachings of the character of Jesus. In that book, they wave around like a prop. Let's get that out of the way. I hate to correct Tara Setmayer. She's a pal. David Duke was not a Grand Imperial Wizard of the KKK, but he was in the KKK and he was a Nazi. They're going to make a big mistake if they don't take advantage of Mark Robinson. Why hasn't Kamala Harris called for him to resign? But I do want to see the Congress say, when are they going to censor the vice presidential nominee, JD Vance, since he's the one who started this corrosive racist lie in the first place. Sometimes I feel like I have to explain it because a lot of folks think if you do it to black people, Muslim people, etc., does it really count? So just think for a second.
