According to a recent watchdog report, the Department of Homeland Security knew that there were threats being made to attack the Capitol building on January 6th. Allegedly, the DHS Office of Intelligence identified potential threats but did not release the information to outside offices or other authorities prior to January 6th, instead opting to share the information with partners in the DC area.
