George Santos Cameo Video EXPLODES With Fetterman Reality Check
Ousted Republican fraudster George Santos records cameo pep talk for disgraced Senator Bob Menendez in a trolling stunt led by John Fetterman. John Iadarola and Viviana Vigil break it down on The Damage Report.
- 5 minutes
Hey, Bobby, look,
I don't think I need to tell you, but
these people that wanna make you get
in trouble and wanna kick you out and
make you run away,
you make them put up or shut up.
You stand your ground, sir, and don't get
bogged down by all the haters out there.
[00:00:17]
Stay strong, merry Christmas.
>> Speaker 2: So that message of
support from former Representative of
George Santos to Bob Menendez was
not just spontaneous from Santos.
I mean, maybe Santos feels a kinship,
perhaps,
[00:00:33]
with another person who's been
accused of terrible crimes,
including financial crimes,
accepting bribes and all that.
But no, that's a Cameo video.
So, George Santos is now
making videos on cameo, and
it was actually Senator John Fetterman
who paid to have him do that video.
[00:00:49]
So, Fetterman put out
a tweet about this saying,
I thought my ethically challenged
colleague Bob Menendez,
could use some encouragement given
his substantial legal problems.
So I approached a seasoned expert on the
matter to give Bobby from Jersey [LAUGH]
some advice.
[LAUGH] So obviously he's playing
a little bit of a prank there on
[00:01:04]
George Santos, too.
I think he spent like $340,
which seems high for
a Cameo in general,
specifically from George Santos.
But we're gonna give you updates on
some of the legal developments with
Bob Menendez, and
it's not good news for the senator.
[00:01:20]
But what do you make of what
Fetterman got up to right there?
>> Speaker 3: I absolutely love when,
I'm gonna call them celebrities,
when celebrities [LAUGH] send Cameo
as trolling, it's the funniest thing.
And it reminds me of, do you remember
the old Flintstone cartoons,
[00:01:35]
where the animal had to do some mundane
job and he'd say, it's a living?
That's what I imagine [LAUGH] George
saying after doing the cameo.
It's a living.
He's gotta make some money,
John, what's he gonna do?
>> Speaker 2: This might be the most
honest money George Santos has made in
[00:01:53]
his life.
>> [LAUGH]
>> He was paid to make a video,
he made it.
As far as I could tell,
there was no fraud.
He actually did the thing he said he
would do. >> I don't if that was AI,
that looks real.
>> Yeah, that's true, maybe.
Honestly, it would be just as good.
So, look, I wanna just really fast let
people know that Menendez obviously is on
[00:02:11]
the line, there are these charges having
to do with tons of bribes and all that.
Influence peddling, basically,
as well as some international stuff, too.
So now we've updates about the gold
bars that have been a part of this story
for a while.
So, at least four gold bars that were
found when the FBI searched the senator's
[00:02:28]
home have been directly linked
to a New Jersey businessman,
Fred, I believe it's Daibes,
is how that's pronounced?
Now accused of bribing Menendez,
Bergen County prosecutor's records
from a 2013 robbery case show.
So, they've been able to trace
the serial numbers on the gold bars.
[00:02:44]
They had been stolen at one point and
then returned to Daibes.
So Daibes' signature and
initials appear on the evidence log,
having to do with that initial theft.
And that included each specific gold bar
with its corresponding serial number.
So that then apparently was
given at some point to Menendez.
[00:03:02]
And so now you have this sort of, like,
ownership chain that's been established.
Menendez denies this, saying,
I did not take payoffs from Daibes,
even though prosecutors allege
testing show Daibes' fingerprints and
DNA are on some of the cash as well,
that was found in Menendez's home.
[00:03:19]
And to be fair, we do have to give
the senator a chance to respond.
So there was a statement saying, he will
not be commenting on anonymous media links
designed to prejudice his
right to a fair trial.
He looks forward to addressing
the government's claims in court,
based on a complete
record of the evidence.
[00:03:35]
Good [CROSSTALK].
>> Speaker 3: There's also a photo of
him holding all the gold bars.
>> Speaker 3: [LAUGH]
>> What I love best about it is that it
was like, don't worry, it's untraceable,
we're gonna pay you in gold bars.
[LAUGH]
>> 100%.
>> Speaker 3: [INAUDIBLE] [LAUGH] so much.
>> Speaker 2: I like to
imagine he's not holding them.
[00:03:51]
He puts them and then he curls up
on them like a dragon on his horde.
That's how I would do it.
>> Speaker 2: [LAUGH] Can you dare?
>> [LAUGH] Nice smaug reference there,
I like that Fetterman is trolling Santos.
They're hitting both of them,
cuz both of them have been alleged to have
committed these incredibly corrupt acts.
[00:04:09]
I will also say, just briefly, a lot
of people have been hitting Santos for
doing Cameo, and
I jokingly was defending there.
But also, I don't know,
it's a thing to do.
I've never done it, but I wouldn't rule
it out. >> What's he supposed to do?
Okay, you better get on Cameo,
cuz I'm gonna hire you to do some Cameos.
[00:04:24]
I love it.
It's a living.
Like you said, it's honest.
[LAUGH]
>> Speaker 2: What is he supposed to do?
I'm sure he's already called to do Dancing
with the Stars and the Masked Singer, and
he'll probably appear on
at least one of those.
He'll probably be on Big Brother or
something, anyway, so, at least for
[00:04:40]
now he's making an honest buck.
And I was actually thinking,
what if I did them?
But whatever I made off of it,
I put into account for Reina,
to start accruing some savings for
education or something.
I doubt he's gonna use it
on his wholesome thing,
it's probably going straight
into Botox and OnlyFans.
[00:04:58]
But anyway, we'll see.
>> Speaker 3: You're better off
saving some gold bars for Reina,
[LAUGH] with the way inflation is.
