TYT LIVE: Inflation Surges to 3.8% as Iran War Costs Hammer the Economy
Inflation reportedly jumped to 3.8% in April, driven largely by rising gasoline prices as growing anger over the economy threatens Donald Trump and Republicans heading into the midterms. At the same time, the Pentagon says the U.S. war with Iran has already cost roughly $29 billion, while Benjamin Netanyahu’s opposition, led by Naftali Bennett, warns the conflict could drag on for “three months or three years.” Meanwhile, Senate Republicans are reportedly considering cutting another $1 billion in domestic spending so Trump can secure funding for his ballroom project through reconciliation and bypass the filibuster. Elsewhere, a controversial op-ed from Nicholas Kristof sparked outrage after focusing on alleged sexual violence against Palestinians, igniting fierce debate over media narratives surrounding the war and humanitarian crisis.

TYT LIVE: Trump Iran Blockade Expands, Comey Indicted, and Congress Pushes Ballroom Bills
Congress responds to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner attack with five separate bills aimed at building Donald Trump’s long-desired White House ballroom, even as Trump reportedly tells aides to prepare for an extended blockade of Iran. Right-wing media rhetoric spirals further with Mark Levin branding critics as Nazis or jihadists, while controversy erupts after a Le Moyne College genocide survivor is reportedly told not to use the word “genocide.” Former FBI Director James Comey is indicted over a 2025 social media post prosecutors claim threatened Trump, and Rep. Thomas Massie warns that automobile kill-switch technology is coming to U.S. dealerships. Meanwhile, OpenAI misses key growth targets ahead of its IPO push, and Drop Site interviews the creators behind the viral AI-generated Lego propaganda videos spreading across social media.

About TYT

Our mission statement at TYT is to boldly pursue truth, challenge the establishment and drive positive change. We have never wavered from that. It’s not easy to state the truth when lies help the powerful retain their power. It’s not easy to challenge the establishment when the establishment has all the power. And as we’re all aware, it is very difficult to drive positive change in a system meant to continue the status quo so that the powerful can stay at the top.

But we have decided to go on this path with our viewers because it is the only decent and sane path. This means we don’t do blind partisanship. We don’t follow antiquated ideologies because someone said we’re supposed to. We also don’t bow our heads to any political leaders or parties. We believe in independent thought. We’re for open-hearts and open-minds.

This is a unique experiment in American media. We’re going to try to build a community around being honest and fighting for the average person. TYT has a bright line rule that we never play with the facts. Our unflinching honesty for over twenty years has made us the most trusted show in digital media and earned us the title of The Online News Network.

The idea that the news is supposed to be neutral and dispassionate is nonsensical. You’re supposed to care about the news! We do and our audience does. That means we report the facts, we analyze the context and then take action to make the world a little better. We believe in hope. We believe that we can work together to make a difference. We hope you join us on this journey.
