Job Description

TYT’s Internship Program offers a hands-on, behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of a fast-paced digital media company. Whether you’re interested in politics, production, journalism, social media, marketing, or business operations, this is your chance to gain real-world experience alongside passionate professionals working to inform, inspire, and drive change.

Interns work closely with teams across the company, editing, writing, researching, pitching, producing, or creating assets that make a real impact on TYT’s programming and outreach. It’s not a “coffee run” internship, it’s an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the largest progressive online news network in the world.

This internship provides a valuable opportunity to:

  • Apply academic knowledge in a professional environment
  • Learn how different departments within a media company collaborate
  • Gain experience that can strengthen future job applications and career direction
  • Build relationships with industry professionals and fellow interns

Requirements

Must be current student or recent graduate.TYT internships are unpaid and school credit is required to participate.

To be eligible, applicants must be either:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program and able to receive academic credit, OR
  • Recent graduates who are still eligible to receive credit through their institution or internship program.

A letter of support or confirmation from a school advisor, professor, or program coordinator is required before onboarding.

Unfortunately, we are not able to accept interns who are not eligible to receive credit, regardless of prior work or educational background. This is a legal requirement based on California labor laws.

Additional requirements:

  • Must be available to work 20–30 hours/week for approximately 12 weeks
  • Strong interest in progressive media, politics, news, or digital production
  • Reliable internet connection (for remote internships)
